Am­bas­sador lauds Kuwait-Bangladesh re­la­tion as his­toric, out­stand­ing

On the oc­ca­sion the Armed Forces Day 2015, The Am­bas­sador of Bangladesh Ma­jor Gen­eral Ashab Ud­din, ndc, psc (Retd) and Ma­jor Gen­eral Bader Ahmed Al Awadhi, Chief of Mil­i­tary In­spec­tion of Kuwait Armed Forces lauded very highly the re­la­tion be­tween both coun­tries’ Armed Forces as his­toric and out­stand­ing. They had been speak­ing on the oc­ca­sion, the re­cep­tion hosted by the De­fence Wing of Bangladesh Em­bassy in Crowne Plaza ho­tel and pro­gram or­ga­nized by the Bangladesh Mil­i­tary Con­tin­gent (BMC) separately on 22 Novem­ber 2015.

The Am­bas­sador men­tioned that Kuwait and Ban­galdesh are strate­gic part­ners in dif­fer­ent fields in­clud­ing mil­i­tary. The re­la­tions and bondage be­tween the two coun­tries are in­sep­a­ra­ble and his­tor­i­cally con­nected. Bangladesh Armed Forces has par­tic­i­pated in Op­er­a­tion Desert Storm along with the Al­lied Forces in 1990/91. Bangladesh Army sup­port­ing Kuwait in dif­fer­ent fields like mine clear­ance, ex­plo­sive dis­posal, med­i­cal, main­te­nance and ser­vice sup­port since 1991. The friend­ship is deep rooted through supreme sac­ri­fices of 71 Bangladeshi sol­diers dur­ing lib­er­a­tion and re­con­struc­tion phase of Kuwait. The Am­bas­sador ex­pressed the thanks and deep grat­i­tude to HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Prime Min­is­ter HH Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Ha­mad Al-Sabah, De­fense Min­is­ter Lieu­tenant Gen­eral (Retd) Sheikh Khaled Al-Jar­rah Al-Sabah, Chief of Staff Lieu­tenant Gen­eral Mo­ham­mad K AlKhad­her on the oc­ca­sion of Armed Forces Day - 2015.

Ma­jor Gen­eral Bader also lauded and praised the con­tri­bu­tion made by Bangladeshi Armed Per­son­nel in lib­er­at­ing Kuwait and sup­port­ing them there­after.

Bangladesh is one of the largest troops con­tribut­ing in UN Peace Keep­ing Oper­a­tions 15 dif­fer­ent coun­tries. So far, Bangladesh Armed Forces have par­tic­i­pated in 54 mis­sions abroad and 1,35,384 in­clud­ing 1011 fe­male peace­keep­ers have par­tic­i­pated for es­tab­lish­ing global peace.

The Am­bas­sador fur­ther ex­pressed with great re­spect and honor the Fa­ther of the na­tion Ban­gubandhu Sheikh Mu­jibur Rah­man, valiant sol­diers, man, woman in war of In­de­pen­dence of Ban­galdesh and par­tic­u­larly from Armed Forced who sac­ri­ficed their lives. Re­mem­bered the great con­tri­bu­tion of sol­diers who sac­ri­ficed their lives for Kuwait and UN Peace Keep­ing Mis­sions in the line of duty.

A good num­ber of Di­plo­mats, De­fense at­tache and mil­i­tary of­fi­cers of var­i­ous coun­tries, Of­fi­cers of Bangladesh Mil­i­tary Con­tin­gent and other guest from Kuwait, other coun­tries and Bangladesh Com­mu­nity of Kuwait at­tended both the events.
