Kuwait donates $758,000 to aid Syrian refugees in Jordan
AMMAN: Kuwait’s Ambassador to Jordan Dr Hamad AlDuaij has handed out a $758,000 worth of aid to two charitable societies in Jordan to help improve the humanitarian situation of the Syrian refugees and needy in the Kingdom.
About $450,000 of aid has been donated by Kuwait’s Al-Najat Charitable Society to the Philanthropists Society in the Kingdom to support orphanages and the society’s budget, Ambassador Al-Duaij stated to KUNA yesterday.
The Ghanaem Al-Khair Foundation, another Kuwaitibased charitable society, has also donated a $338,000 worth of aid to the Arab Medical Relief Society in Jordan to support the launch of the motherhood and childhood center in the Sheikh Sabah A-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah Village at Al-Zaatari camp, slated for 2016, in addition to the Adahi (livestock sacrifices) project, said the Kuwaiti diplomat.
He reiterated the embassy’s willingness to facilitate all humanitarian activities carried out by Kuwaiti and Jordanian charitable and relief societies, and to overcome all obstacles that face supporting the humanitarian situations of the Syrian refugees in all around the Kingdom. —KUNA
