ASAR hails RunQ8 Marathon successful sponsorship

ASAR - Al Ruwayeh and Partners (ASAR), Kuwait’s leading and most prominent corporate law firm, and one of the region’s top tier firms, successfully sponsored the RunQ8 Marathon for the second consecutive year. Organized by the Fawzia Sultan Rehabilitation Institute (FSRI), the 10km charity race was held on Saturday 28 November 2015 on the Gulf Road, and came under the theme of “Run for a Cause.”

This year, the event gathered more than 2200 runners, where all the proceeds from the race were dedicated to the Non-Profit Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC). Families often struggle with financial resources when a child with disabilities and injuries needs constant therapy at CERC. This is when FSRI extends its support in collaboration with local partners, to provide families without resources the assistance to care for their disabled children.

Commenting on ASAR’s participation, Sam Habbas, Senior Partner at ASAR said: “ASAR’s support and sponsorship of RUNQ8 is primarily aimed at raising public awareness of the challenges faced by children with physical or cognitive disabilities, as well as enabling and promoting healthy living conditions for these children. At ASAR, we take our corporate social responsibility very seriously, and we strongly believe that our well-being and that of the communities we operate within are inter-connected. ASAR’s support of this effort is aligned with this corporate social responsibility commitment. ASAR is proud to have sponsored RUNQ8 for the second consecutive year and we will continue to assert our leadership in being a socially responsible firm. We aim at maintaining our support and sponsorship of community centric events in the future, and in particular those aimed at raising health, and healthy living, awareness in Kuwait.”

It is worth mentioning that RUNQ8 is the largest children’s charity event in Kuwait. The Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center provides comprehensive programs that include physical therapy, speech therapy, psychology and occupational therapy.
