Zain launches its ninth breast can­cer aware­ness cam­paign

Zain, the lead­ing telecom­mu­ni­ca­tions com­pany in Kuwait, launched its ninth an­nual breast can­cer aware­ness cam­paign in part­ner­ship with the Min­istry of Health’s Na­tional Mam­mog­ra­phy Screen­ing Pro­gram and Al Seef Hospi­tal. The cam­paign aims at spread­ing aware­ness about breast can­cer dur­ing Oc­to­ber of ev­ery year. Zain’s an­nual cam­paign co­in­cides with the glob­ally cel­e­brated month of breast can­cer dur­ing Oc­to­ber, and strongly re­flects the com­pany’s Cor­po­rate Sus­tain­abil­ity and So­cial Re­spon­si­bil­ity strat­egy. The cam­paign mainly aims at spread­ing aware­ness about the goals set by the World Health Or­ga­ni­za­tion to pre­vent breast can­cer, most im­por­tantly the sig­nif­i­cance of mam­mo­gram tests and early de­tec­tion.

In col­lab­o­ra­tion with its part­ners, Zain will spread a num­ber of in­for­ma­tive mes­sages through so­cial me­dia through­out the month of Oc­to­ber to in­crease pos­i­tive aware­ness about breast can­cer preven­tion. The mes­sages fea­ture Head of the Na­tional Mam­mog­ra­phy Screen­ing Pro­gram Dr. Hana Al Khuwari, Sur­gi­cal on­col­o­gist and gen­eral sur­geon at Al Seef Hospi­tal Dr. Nuha Al Saleh, and Bariatric Nu­tri­tion­ist at Al Seef Hospi­tal Sa­har Nasser Ed­dine.

Zain will also en­gage its em­ploy­ees in the aware­ness cam­paign, through which it will or­ga­nize in­for­ma­tive sem­i­nars, spread aware­ness videos, and of­fer free mam­mo­gram tests for its em­ploy­ees and their fam­i­lies. Zain was keen on strate­gi­cally part­ner­ing with lead­ing health­care providers, both public and pri­vate, such as the Min­istry of Health’s Na­tional Mam­mog­ra­phy Screen­ing Pro­gram and Al Seef Hospi­tal, to en­rich its steps into in­form­ing the public through the ex­per­tise of these or­ga­ni­za­tions’ ex­perts, spe­cial­ists, and con­sul­tants.

Zain’s solid Cor­po­rate So­cial Re­spon­si­bil­ity and Sus­tain­abil­ity strate­gies pri­mar­ily fo­cus on the well­be­ing of the en­tire na­tion. For that rea­son, the com­pany has main­tained its sup­port to all kinds of ini­tia­tives that spread aware­ness and help make a dif­fer­ence. Zain has pre­vi­ously part­nered with the World Health Or­ga­ni­za­tion (WHO), co­op­er­ated with the Min­istry of Health, and part­nered with the Kuwaiti Red Cres­cent for sev­eral aware­ness cam­paigns re­lated to the health sec­tor.
