4-member gang arrested

KUWAIT: MoI’s Relations and Security Media Department said police have arrested a fourmember Egyptian gang who are wanted for currency, visas, residency and civil ID forgeries. Case papers indicate that Hawalli detectives had been tipped off concerning one of the suspects’ activities. Three passports with fake residency visa stamps were found their possession. The suspect also admitted to forging KD 10 revenue stamps in collaborat­ion with three other suspects. The suspects also confessed to forging Kuwaiti dinar.

Robbery suspect

An Egyptian has been arrested for stealing a hand bag from an Iranian man including KD 600, a mobile phone and a mini router, security sources said. The Iranian reported that someone snatched away his hand bag and ran away. The man added that he pursued the suspect but could not catch him. The suspect was arrested two days later. He confessed to stealing the bag.

Drug traffickin­g

A citizen was recently arrested for drug traffickin­g, said security sources noting that the suspect was caught red-handed while trying to sell two bars of hashish to a secret agent for KD 100. The sources added that the suspect led the police to another citizen who usually provides him with the drug. The second suspect was later arrested and a quarter kilo of Hashish was found in his possession.
