Towards the truth: An Inspiring book released
Gandhi Jayanthi is the befitting occasion to release the book titled “Towards the Truth - The successful Travel experiences of Dr R Seetharaman” in Tamil, authored by NC Mohandoss, published by Kavitha publications , a popular Tamil writer & novelist , narrating the biography of Dr R Seetharaman. HE Nassir Abdul Aziz Al-Nasser, Former President of UN General Assembly and currently special officer, “Alliance of Civilization” UN received the first copy. The venue was the “World Tamil 3rd Economic Conference” conducted at Le Meridian Hotel, Chennai.
On this special occasion, Dr R Seetharaman, CEO of Doha Bank gave an excellent lecture both in English and Tamil, introducing the scope and contents of this book. It was not only an eloquent oration but also a revelation of facts about his early life without any inhibition. Born in a middle class family, he had to struggle a lot to get the education he craved for, overtaking many hurdles, due to paucity of enough funds.
Dr R Seetharaman gave a precise account of the trials and tribulations he underwent in his life and he had overcome such difficult situations. Truth has been his goal and conscience is his guide. He enthralled the audience by his speech which was a blend of emotion and intellect.
HE Moses Veerasamy Nagamootoo, Prime Minister of Guiana, who presided over the conference, introduced his own book, titled ‘Fragments of Memory ‘ to the gathering. Justice AR Lakshmanan, Former Justice of Supreme Court of India, whose book also released in this function introduced his book titled “The Judge Expresses”. AR Lakshman , In his speech praised Dr R.Seetharaman’s exemplary success in his life, which will be a source of inspiration to the younger generation. Justice AR Lakshmanan also hailed NC Mohandoss’s co-operation in accomplishing the publication of the book on the biography of Dr R Seetharaman.
Department of Empowerment of Persons with disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India conducted a mega camp for distribution of aids and assistive devices in Navsari, Gujarat on 17 September 2016 and organized by Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporations of India. Ltd. (ALIMCO). The event was inaugurated by Prime Minister. The camp-Samajik Adhikarita Shivir witnessed three Guinness World Records.
The first record was ‘highest number of oil lamps lit simultaneously at single location on the eve of mega camp; biggest wheelchair logo with 1,000 participants depicted a message saying “Happy Birthday PM” in tricolour; and the third record was most people fitted with hearing aid in 8 hours. 600 hearing aids were set on the same day in a single location.
It is important to mention here, Navsari Camp is the 159th Mega ADIP camp and so far is the biggest one. The 11330 Divyangjan beneficiaries were benefitted in the camp. The scheme is in force since 1981. This has been revised and further adopted from April 01, 2014.
