3 broth­ers ar­rested for reck­less driv­ing

State­less per­son posed as de­tec­tive held

Three Kuwaiti broth­ers were ar­rested for reck­less driv­ing, en­dan­ger­ing others’ lives, re­sist­ing ar­rest and as­sault­ing po­lice of­fi­cers. Se­cu­rity sources ex­plained that one of the broth­ers was driv­ing dan­ger­ously, and when told to pull over, he drove on the op­po­site side of the road, hit­ting an­other ve­hi­cle. The source added that his two broth­ers tried to free him, but they were even­tu­ally con­trolled. Po­lice­men found one of them was wanted for a KD 3,000 fi­nan­cial claim.

Ar­rested with guns

Two cit­i­zens were ar­rested with a shot­gun and 22 car­tridges, said se­cu­rity sources.

A state­less per­son was ar­rested for im­per­son­at­ing as a po­lice de­tec­tive and rob­bing ex­pats in Shuwaikh In­dus­trial area. Se­cu­rity sources noted that the sus­pect usu­ally asked for vic­tims’ IDs, and as soon they got their wal­lets out, he snatched them and fled.

Mu­nic­i­pal in­spec­tion

Cap­i­tal mu­nic­i­pal­ity in­spec­tion teams col­lected KD 2,175 in fines in Septem­ber, said Cap­i­tal mu­nic­i­pal­ity man­ager Am­mar AlAm­mar, not­ing that 55 warn­ings were is­sued and 54 houses were in­spected pend­ing con­nect­ing power sup­plies. Am­mar added that the teams filed 150 food-re­lated ci­ta­tions, marked 33 aban­doned ve­hi­cles, re­moved 26 il­le­gal ads and two vi­o­la­tions on pub­lic prop­erty. Mean­while, Jahra mu­nic­i­pal­ity in­spec­tors re­moved five aban­doned ve­hi­cles and six pub­lic prop­erty vi­o­la­tions.

KUWAIT: The In­te­rior Min­istry yes­ter­day in­au­gu­rated a spe­cial train­ing pro­gram for traf­fic po­lice agents with the at­ten­dance of MoI’s act­ing as­sis­tant un­der­sec­re­tary for traf­fic af­fairs Maj Gen Fahd Al-Showayye, top MoI of­fi­cials, UNDP’s deputy res­i­dent rep­re­sen­ta­tive Dima Al-Kha­teeb and the Supreme Plan­ning Coun­cil’s as­sis­tant sec­re­tary gen­eral Talal Al-Shem­mari. The pro­gram will be for a month with par­tic­i­pa­tion of 22 trainees from the traf­fic sec­tor and three from the in­ves­ti­ga­tions de­part­ment.
