Zain donates over KD 45,000 to humanitarian causes
Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Kuwait, announced the donation of over KD 45,000 on behalf of its customers for humanitarian causes. The donation came as part of its recently concluded charitable initiative it launched during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The donation came in collaboration with Sheikh Abdullah Al-Nouri Charity Association, and will be utilized to build a number of water wells at distant locations in Somalia and Kyrgyzstan with the aim of providing clean and safe drinking water to underprivileged families.
Zain’s donation on behalf of its customers came in line with its Corporate Sustainability and Social Responsibility strategy that seeks to contribute to humanitarian causes. Zain prides itself on its long track of records and contributions it has put in philanthropic areas. The company strongly believes that such initiatives help infuse a sense of responsibility into members of the society, to help support those who are in need of help.
The donation came as part of Zain’s recently concluded initiative launched in June, where the company donated 500 Fils (half a KD) every time a customer paid their bill during the Holy Month of Ramadan through one of Zain’s electronic channels, including Zain’s website, Zain’s smartphone app, and any of Zain’s Quickpay machines.
Zain will continue to introduce initiatives that reflect the traditional humanitarian values and principles of the Kuwaiti society; aimed at enriching the art of giving and increasing bonding between individuals.
