PAAET seeks to empower women to face challenges
The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) is hard at work to empower women in the Gulf to face contemporary challenges, PAAET Director General Dr Ahmad Saleh Al-Athari said. Al-Athari made the statement at a meeting yesterday for the higher committee of the second scientific and cultural forum of students of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) university and educational institutions.
The meeting focused on setting the axes and the goals of the forum slated for March 19-23, 2017. The PAAET is making hard efforts to prepare for the forum, to enhance bases of fair competition and scientific integrity in addition to highlighting creativity and skills of the GCC women in scientific, economic and social scenes, he said.
Also, the authority seeks more cooperation accords with Kuwait’s Public Authority for Youth (PAY), which is a strategic partner in supporting young people, Al-Athari noted. It also aspires for concluding further agreements with external authorities and seeks to shed light during the forum on the achievements of the Gulf women, as well as the challenges and obstacles they are facing.
For his part, PAY Director General Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi said that they would offer support to youth through experts and specialists, to assess their behavior and define their needs during panel discussions, and will also listen to their views, Al-Mutairi said. He stressed the fact that PAY is working in line with directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to support youth. —KUNA
