LOA Annual Day celebrations

Kuwait Times - - WHAT’S ON -

Schools wait for this event for the whole year; students anticipate the day; the teachers hold their breath for the day. The entire school works hard for this day. The Annual Function! Anticipation, hard work, wait ... it all reflected when Indian Learners Own Academy, Kuwait, celebrated its magnificent and reverberating 6th Annual Day with great pomp and fervor on Tuesday, 27th September, 2016. The day at the school displayed excellence, highlighting academic achievements of the school.

Zeal was in the air and it was felt all over the school premises. The school ground was packed with students from all the sections. The teaching staff, administrative staff and parents were also present to celebrate this day. The students displayed an astonishing variety of talents by putting up a breath taking cultural program that included dances, skits and songs.

LOA’s musical ensemble enthralled the audience with the soulful rendition of the music composed especially for the occasion and then the orchestra team performed, punctuating the evening with captivating array of tunes. The synchronized dance movements to the foot tapping music of ‘Athithi Devo Bhava’ enthralled the audience.

Mrs Asha Sharma formally welcomed the dignitaries in an eco friendly way. The progressive annual report was read by the Principal of the school, which was well supported with the power point presentation. In her report she highlighted the achievements of the school and students in various fields of excellence. Dr Shobha-Vaddadhi appreciated the achievements of the school during her speech. And then the highlight of the most-anticipated day ... Prize Distribution!

Beaming faces were seen coming back from the stage as prizes were given away to meritorious and outperforming students by the guests of honor. Prizes were conferred to deserving students for their excellence in extracurricular activities, sports, cultural activities etc. Meritorious students in academics and extra -curricular activities were felicitated.

The French department celebrated the culture, language and ethos of France by performing a skit in French. ‘Nritya Natika’, a dance drama was performed by the students under the guidance and leadership of the teachers of Hindi department. The students captivated the audience with their mesmerizing Arabic dance performance. A healthy mind lives in healthy body. Health is wealth. Such proverbs were explained and portrayed beautifully through an Aerobic dance.

On this occasion, 22 teaching and non-teachings staff members were felicitated for completion of 5 years of their dedicated service to the institution by Mr DK Sharma, the Chairman of LOA. The events of the eventful evening came to an end with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Head Boy Shaikh Aymen and Head Girl Merin Maliyeckel.
