The Arab Media Forum will honor youth voluntary and humanitarian initiatives next week, said the forum’s Secretary General Madhi Al-Khamis. Awards will be offered to 10 initiatives, and winners will receive due care, he told a press conference yesterday, adding the honoring ceremony will be held on October 29.

The award was launched few months ago in a bid to assess the youth voluntary non-profitable initiatives in different fields, Khamis said. The organizing committee has received 640 youth initiatives from several Arab countries, and they have been sorted out and submitted to an arbitration panel.

The award is part of the forum’s keenness to support youth and their positive projects, caring for their ideas and creativity and creating atmosphere of competition among them, for the good of the society, the secretary general said.

The ceremony will be held under patronage of Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah. A fair will be held on the sidelines of the ceremony for young entrepreneurs to offer their voluntary activities, achievements and future projects. Up to 40 initiatives, both from Kuwait and abroad will be reviewed during the fair, Khamis said.

Ooredoo believes that the Kuwaiti youth own great capabilities and they only need support, he said. Executive Director of Public Relations at the Kuwait Finance House (KFH) Yusuf Al-Ruwaih, told the conference that youth initiatives top the KFH’s priorities. Sponsoring the Arab Media Forum awards reaffirms KFH’s support to youth in various fields, he added.
