KRCS hospital in northern Lebanon ‘beacon of hope’
The Kuwait Red Crescent Society’s (KRCS) Hospital in northern Lebanon is considered as a beacon of hope where thousands of patients seek to receive treatment. The hospital, which was built by a Singaporean international firm on an area of 5,000 square meters, cost around $6.5 million and was opened by the Lebanese Health Ministry in 2013. In addition to receiving many Lebanese citizens, the hospital also provides treatment to Syrian refugees residing in the northern part of the country.
The hospital’s director Dima Jamal said that the KRCS had a major impression in the region, stressing that the building of the hospital was another milestone achieved by the society. Thousands of Lebanese and refugees benefited from the hospital’s services, affirmed Jamal who added that Kuwait was always on the forefront of providing humanitarian assistance to people in the region and the world.
On his part, patient Ayman Mustafa stressed that the presence of the KRCS hospital in the region had helped many people to receive proper treatment for various ailments, adding that instead of heading to far-away medical facilities, the people in the northern region of the country could seek medical help from the hospital.
Meanwhile, Syrian refugee Jamal Jasem took the chance to thank the State of Kuwait and its people for constructing the much-needed medical facility, saying that many Syrian refugees were grateful for the services that the KRCS hospital was providing.
