Lulu Exchange director honored with Excellence in Financial Sector Award
The first Qadat Al-Tagheer Awards were presented during the second edition of the UAE India Economic Forum (UIEF) held at Madinat Jumeirah Hotel in Dubai on Wednesday. The awards honours and felicitates government leaders and businessmen who have made a mark and contributes to fostering growth and partnership between United Arab Emirates and India. Hosted by the Consulate General of India in Dubai and supported by the UAE Ministry of Economy, in strategic partnership with UAE International Investors Council, Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Invest India, Abu Dhabi Global Market and Dubai Economic Council, this year’s UAE India Economic Forum was jointly inaugurated by Nitin Gadkari, Indian Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Belhaif Al-Nuaimi, Cabinet Member and Minister of Infrastructure Development.
In recognition of the contribution and efforts towards promoting the trade relations between India and the UAE, Adeeb Ahamed, Director, Lulu Exchange was honoured with the Excellence in Financial Sector Award. Lulu Exchange has more than 65 branches spread between India & UAE and more than 130 branches spread across nine countries.
Many other noted luminaries and businesses were also honored during the ceremony, including Yusuff Ali MA, Managing Director, Lulu Group International for Indian Businessman of the Year Award, Mr. PNC Menon of Shoba Group for Excellence in Real Estate, Azad Moopen of Aster DM Healthcare for Excellence in Healthcare, Shaji Al Mulk of Mulk Holdings for Excellence in Construction, Sunny Varkey of Gems Education for Excellence in Education, Dr Dhananjay Datar of Al Adil Trading Group for Excellence in Retail and Brian Etemad of Tamleek for Emerging Emirati Brand. “We are extremely honored to have received this award. These awards reaffirm the continued efforts of the visionary leadership of UAE and India to increase business and investment between both countries. Events like these also highlights the opportunities that exist and continues to grow between the two countries. I would like to congratulate my fellow awardees who have been integral to this growing bilateral relation and have carved a niche of their own in their fields of expertise,” said Adeeb Ahamed on receiving the award. The focus of this year’s forum is investment opportunities in India’s infrastructural projects with the event’s sessions shedding light on sectors that offer attractive investment opportunities, including infrastructure, ports and railways, tourism and hospitality, healthcare, agriculture and food security.
Noted speakers like M J Akbar, Indian Minister of State for External Affairs, Anurag Bhushan, Consul General of India in Dubai, Marwan Bin Jassim Al-Sarkal, CEO, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), UAE, Jamal Al-Jarwan, Secretary General, UAE International Investors Council (UAEIIC) and other key speakers are scheduled to take part in the two-day event.
