Inauguration of the counseling department @icsk

The Indian Community School (Senior) Kuwait witnessed an extraordinary inaugural ceremony of the Dept. of counseling on 13th October 2016. According to the modern education concept the school counselors are vital members of the education team. The main objective of the Counseling department is to help all students in the areas of academic achievement; personal/social development and career development, ensuring today’s students become the productive, well-adjusted adults of tomorrow. School counselors are an important part of the educational leadership team and provide valuable assistance to students regardless of whether they work in an elementary school or middle school, high school or beyond.

The program began with invoking the blessings of the God Almighty. Dr V Binumon, Senior Administrator & Principal ICSK (Senior)welcomed the august gathering and introduced the chief guest Dr Joanne Hands, Director-Kuwait Counseling Centre to the audience. On this auspicious occasion, Dr Joanne Hands Inaugurated the Counseling department and traditionally lighted the lamp along with other dignitaries. Dr. Hands expressed her great happiness and appreciated the department of Counseling for taking a new endeavor for the wellbeing of the Indian Community. She also whole heartedly offered her all support for the further growth.

Mrs. Asha Sharma, Kuwait Cluster Convener, felicitated the occasion and emphasized in her speech about the benefits of having an advanced counseling centre in Kuwait. She also appreciated the effort taken bythe Department of Counseling. The program coordinator, Mr.Riaz, a faculty from the Department of Psychology spoke on the occasion about the merits of the counseling. Mrs .Aarushi ,a teaching faculty of the same Department conducted a power point presentation ,explaining the scope of counseling. Mr. K. Gangadhar Shirsath ,Principal ICSK Khaitan, Father Lionel Braganza , Principal Don Bosco - Kuwait were present to grace the occasion .

The meeting was over with the vote of thanks by Mr. Shirsath, Principal , ICSK Khaitan.
