HH the Crown Prince shoot­ing tour­ney con­cludes

Strong com­pe­ti­tion from shoot­ers as par­tic­i­pants reach over 300

KUWAIT: In­for­ma­tion Min­is­ter, State Min­is­ter for Youth Af­fairs Sheikh Sal­man Sabah AlSalem Al-Hu­moud Al-Sabah rep­re­sented HH the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ah­mad AlJaber Al-Sabah at the clos­ing cer­e­mony of Crown Prince An­nual Shoot­ing Tour­na­ment which came to con­clu­sion on Satur­day evening.

The clos­ing cer­e­mony was also at­tended by Pres­i­dent of Arab and Kuwait Shoot­ing Fed­er­a­tions Eng. Duaij Kha­laf Al-Otaibi, Deputy Chair­man of Kuwait Shoot­ing Sport Club Mo­ham­mad Mustafa Karam, Arab and Kuwait Shoot­ing Fed­er­a­tions Sec­re­tary Gen­eral Obaid Mu­nahi Al-Osaimi, KSSC Trea­sures Essa Bu­taiban, As­sis­tant Sec­re­tary Eng. Mo­ham­mad Al-Ghurba, As­sis­tant Trea­surer Ad­nan Al-Ibrahim and Board mem­bers Dr. Nedal Al-Asem and Eng Hus­sam AlRoumi.

In his clos­ing speech Eng. Duaij Al-Otaibi wel­comed those present, adding that shoot­ing club looks for­ward to or­ga­nize this tour­na­ment an­nu­ally which is dear to all Kuwait shoot­ers, adding that this year’s tour­na­ment saw the par­tic­i­pa­tion of shoot­ers from Bahrain and UAE along with the club, Na­tional Guard, Po­lice and mil­i­tary shoot­ers as the num­ber of par­tic­i­pants reached over 300 com­pet­ing in the Olympic shot­gun, ri­fle, pis­tol and archery. He added that the tour­na­ment saw strong com­pe­ti­tion from all shoot­ers who were seek­ing to win as it car­ries a dear name to all shoot­ers and opens the shoot­ing sport’s sea­son.

Eng. Al-Otaibi said the distin­guished achieve­ments made by Kuwait shoot­ing by Kuwait’s Olympic wins by Dou­ble Trap Shooter Fuhaid Al-Dai­hani and Skeet Shooter Ab­dal­lah Al-Rashidi dur­ing the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics con­trib­uted to adding to achieve­ments made by Kuwait in var­i­ous fields. He said Kuwait shoot­ing once again ap­pre­ci­ates the great sup­port of HH the Amir, HH the crown Prince and HH the Prime Min­is­ter to the ath­letes in gen­eral and shoot­ers in par­tic­u­lar.

Rep­re­sen­ta­tive of HH the Crown Prince then dis­trib­uted win­ners cups and prizes as fol­lows:

Zaid Dakil Al-Mu­tairi in the skeet event Tami Al-Rashidi in Trap, Ha­mad Al-Afasi in the dou­ble Trap, Sheikha Al-Rashidi in the women skeet, Sarah al-Hawal in the women trap, Ali Saad Al-Mu­tairi in the 10m air pis­tol, Ab­dal­lah Al-Harby in the 10m air ri­fle, Khalid Al-Subaie in the 50m ri­fle, Ab­dal­lah Al-Harby in the three po­si­tion 50 m ri­fle, Ha­mad Al-Namshan in the 50 m pis­tol, Heba Er­zouqi in the 10m women air ri­fle, Is­raa Bah­man in the 10m women air pis­tol, Bader al-Mu­tairi in the Olympic archery, Ah­mad Al-Shatti in the com­pound archery and Sha­heen Kiti in the ju­nior’s Olympic archery.

Sheikh Sal­man Sabah Al-Salem Al-Hu­moud Al-Sabah said fol­low­ing the cer­e­mony said he was honored to rep­re­sent HH the crown prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ah­mad Al-Jaber AlSabah at the clos­ing cer­e­mony of this an­nual tour­na­ment. He said the shoot­ing club is one of the clubs that over­came hur­dles and dif­fi­cul­ties in Olympic and in­ter­na­tional events, and HH the Crown Prince pa­ter­nal care re­sulted in mak­ing the achieve­ments that placed Kuwait’s name in promi­nence .

Sheikh Sal­man thanked the club for the good or­ga­ni­za­tion and the suc­cess of in­tro­duc­ing ju­niors who are the fu­ture of any sport in­clud­ing shoot­ing, and we hope that they de­velop their plans and pro­grams to con­tinue their win­ning ways. He said a de­ci­sion was taken in this re­gard at the Pub­lic Au­thor­ity for Sports to sup­port KSSC and the dis­abled club so that they be­come an ex­am­ple for the rest of sports en­ti­ties.
