Kuwait, Equa­to­rial Guinea ink MoU for con­sul­ta­tions

KUWAIT: The State of Kuwait and the Repub­lic of Equa­to­rial Guinea yes­ter­day signed a mem­o­ran­dum of un­der­stand­ing (MoU) reg­u­lat­ing bi­lat­eral con­sul­ta­tions be­tween the two coun­tries. The sign­ing cer­e­mony, held at Bayan Palace, was at­tended by His High­ness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ah­mad Al-Jaber AlSabah and the vis­it­ing Pres­i­dent of Equa­to­rial Guinea Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mba­sogo, who ar­rived in Kuwait ear­lier yes­ter­day on an of­fi­cial visit. The MoU was signed by First Deputy Prime Min­is­ter and For­eign Min­is­ter Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled AlHa­mad Al-Sabah and his Guinean coun­ter­part, Agapito Mba Mokuy.

Ear­lier, His High­ness the Amir re­ceived Pres­i­dent Mba­sogo and the ac­com­pa­ny­ing of­fi­cials at Bayan Palace. The meet­ing was at­tended by His High­ness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ah­mad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The top-level of­fi­cial talks were also at­tended by His High­ness the Prime Min­is­ter Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak AlHa­mad Al-Sabah, For­eign Min­is­ter Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled and se­nior of­fi­cials from the two sides.

Deputy Min­is­ter of the Amiri Di­wan Af­fairs Sheikh Ali Jar­rah Al-Sabah said the talks dealt with means of boost­ing the bi­lat­eral re­la­tions and mu­tual co­op­er­a­tion be­tween the two coun­tries. Mean­while, His High­ness the Amir held a lun­cheon in honor of the vis­it­ing pres­i­dent and his del­e­ga­tion.

His High­ness the Amir, His High­ness the Crown Prince, His High­ness the Prime Min­is­ter and Deputy Chief of the Kuwait Na­tional Guard Sheikh Mishal Al-Ah­mad AlJaber Al-Sabah were in Mba­so­gos’ re­cep­tion at the air­port. He was also re­ceived by Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, Deputy Prime Min­is­ter and Min­is­ter of In­te­rior Sheikh Mo­ham­mad Al-Khaled Al-Ha­mad Al-Sabah and Deputy Min­is­ter of Amiri Di­wan Af­fairs Sheikh Ali Jar­rah Al-Sabah.

He was also re­ceived by Deputy Prime Min­is­ter and Min­is­ter of De­fense Sheikh Khaled Al-Jar­rah Al-Sabah, Deputy Prime Min­is­ter and Min­is­ter of Fi­nance and Act­ing Min­is­ter of Oil Anas Khaled Al-Saleh, along with se­nior state of­fi­cials, se­nior mil­i­tary, po­lice and Na­tional Guard per­son­nel, as well as Di­rec­tor General of Kuwait Fire Ser­vice Di­rec­torate.

An ac­com­pa­ny­ing mis­sion of honor from the Amiri Di­wan was formed headed by Amiri Di­wan Ad­vi­sor Dr Yousef Ha­mad Al-Ibrahim. Mba­sogo is ac­com­pa­nied by an of­fi­cial del­e­ga­tion con­sist­ing of Min­is­ter of For­eign Af­fairs, In­ter­na­tional Co­op­er­a­tion, and Fran­co­phone Af­fairs Agapito Mba Mokuy, Min­is­ter of Fish­ing and wa­ter Re­sources Es­tanis­lao Don Mal­abo, as well as Deputy Min­is­ter to the Pres­i­dency of the Repub­lic charged with Ex­ter­nal Se­cu­rity Juan An­to­nio Bibang Nchuchuma, along with a num-
