KRCS funds cancer treatment for Syrian refugee in Lebanon

- KUNA

BEIRUT:

Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announced yesterday that it would be handling the cost of cancer treatment to one of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Yasmine Muwafaq, 75, was in need of radioactive therapy for her cancer case, KRCS delegate Dr Musa’ad Al-Enezi said in a statement.

He added that the KRCS was coordinating with the Lebanese Red Cross on this matter, noting that treatment for cancer was a long and horrendous process that usually burdens those suffering from this deadly disease both financially and physically.

KRCS will continue to help Syrian refugees residing in Lebanon, said the official, adding that covering the treatment cost will hopefully yield some fruitful results.

In similar statements, Husband of Muwafaq, Wael Qassem thanked the KRCS for this generous gesture to cover the cost of treatment, affirming that Kuwait’s leadership and people were always on the forefront when it came to aiding Syrian refugees during their darkest hours. The Syrian conflict is ongoing since March of 2011. —
