KAMCO supports breast cancer awareness

-

KAMCO Investment Company, a leading investment company with one of the largest AUMs in the GCC region, organized a breast cancer awareness session for its employees in collaboration with “Inspire” fitness center and the Kuwait National Screening Session Program Team. The awareness campaign included a question and answer session, in addition to a fitness session hosted by Inspire. The campaign also included a sign up form for a mammogram screening conducted by the Kuwait National Screening Program Team.

KAMCO organized the event to spread awareness and support those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. KAMCO employees attended the eventful session that took place in Al Shaheed Tower. The Kuwait National Screening Session Program Team included Dr Asmaa Hussein, Dr Hanaa AlKhawari, and Mrs Mona Ashkanani who gave insightful information and answered all questions raised during the session. Vermealen, a qualified fitness trainer from Inspire, demonstrated different exercises and techniques that would lead to a healthier lifestyle if performed on a regular basis.

Ms Danah Al Jasem, Vice President and Head of the Marketing Department at KAMCO said, “We would like to recognize the collaborative efforts put forth by both Inspire and the Kuwait National Screening Session Program Team along with KAMCO’s Marketing team in delivering yet another informative awareness session. It is critical for both women and men to detect the early signs of breast cancer in order to prevent the disease from spreading or leading to possible fatalities. Preventative health measures and a healthy lifestyle are key practices to consider to reduce the possibility of the disease.”

Ms Al Jasem added, “We will continue to utilize our resources in providing our employees with valuable information and lifestyle tips that will encourage early detection or decrease the likeliness of getting the disease. Breast cancer awareness, as well as other health awareness observances and events, fall in line with KAMCO’s corporate social responsibility initiative to focus on health, education and the environment to benefit our society. We look forward to more informative and interactive events that are highly beneficial to our employees and the community.”

All employees were encouraged to raise questions related to the detection, early stages and symptoms of breast cancer. Only female employees attended the fitness session held in the gym at Al Shaheed Tower. In addition to the scheduled activities, pink ribbons were displayed throughout the KAMCO offices to further commemorate those who have fought or are currently fighting the battle against breast cancer.
