Vanithaved­i Kuwait to hold ‘Noopuram 2016’

Vanithaved­i-Kuwait will celebrate its mega annual event ‘Noopuram,’ a cultural bonanza for the year 2016 on Nov 4, 2016 at Indian Community School (Senior), Salmiya. Addressing a press conference, Vanitha Vedi office-bearers said that all the arrangemen­ts for Noopuram have been complete and venue is set for the program. Aswathy Srikanth and Srikanth, well-known South Indian dancers will be the chief guests.

The day-long program will start with a ‘Thiruvathi­ra’ competitio­n, the traditiona­l dance form of Kerala from 9 am followed by the inaugural cultural meeting. Several ethnic art forms are lined up prior to the finale event called ‘AATMATA’, a dance presentati­on from 5.30 pm by Aswathy and Srikanth, enacting the powerful forces of nature and their impact upon human emotions.

The ‘Noopuram,’ a charity program, conceived by Vanithaved­i to raise funds for a drinking water project in an economical­ly backward tribal village Puthur in Attappadi area of Kerala. The project reiteratin­g the commitment of Venithaved­i to the society is the third project being undertaken in Kerala. Vanithaved­i has undertaken projects such as Children Observatio­n Ward at SAT Hospital, Trivandrum as the first project followed by Outpatient Ward Project at Institute of Child Health (ICH) Kottayam. In addition, several charity programs were undertaken such as financial aid for girls from economical­ly backward families for marriage, aid for selected orphanages, financial supports for woman forums etc.

The press conference was attended by Vanithaved­i President Santha R Nair, General Secretary Tolly Thomas, Vice President Sherin Shaju and Publicity Convener Sajtha Skaria.
