Vanithavedi Kuwait to hold ‘Noop­u­ram 2016’

Vanithavedi-Kuwait will cel­e­brate its mega an­nual event ‘Noop­u­ram,’ a cul­tural bo­nanza for the year 2016 on Nov 4, 2016 at In­dian Com­mu­nity School (Se­nior), Salmiya. Ad­dress­ing a press con­fer­ence, Vanitha Vedi of­fice-bear­ers said that all the ar­range­ments for Noop­u­ram have been com­plete and venue is set for the pro­gram. Aswathy Srikanth and Srikanth, well-known South In­dian dancers will be the chief guests.

The day-long pro­gram will start with a ‘Thiru­vathira’ com­pe­ti­tion, the tra­di­tional dance form of Ker­ala from 9 am fol­lowed by the in­au­gu­ral cul­tural meet­ing. Sev­eral eth­nic art forms are lined up prior to the fi­nale event called ‘AATMATA’, a dance pre­sen­ta­tion from 5.30 pm by Aswathy and Srikanth, en­act­ing the pow­er­ful forces of na­ture and their im­pact upon hu­man emo­tions.

The ‘Noop­u­ram,’ a char­ity pro­gram, con­ceived by Vanithavedi to raise funds for a drink­ing wa­ter project in an eco­nom­i­cally back­ward tribal vil­lage Puthur in At­tap­padi area of Ker­ala. The project re­it­er­at­ing the com­mit­ment of Venithavedi to the so­ci­ety is the third project be­ing un­der­taken in Ker­ala. Vanithavedi has un­der­taken projects such as Chil­dren Ob­ser­va­tion Ward at SAT Hos­pi­tal, Tri­van­drum as the first project fol­lowed by Out­pa­tient Ward Project at In­sti­tute of Child Health (ICH) Kot­tayam. In ad­di­tion, sev­eral char­ity pro­grams were un­der­taken such as fi­nan­cial aid for girls from eco­nom­i­cally back­ward fam­i­lies for mar­riage, aid for se­lected or­phan­ages, fi­nan­cial sup­ports for woman fo­rums etc.

The press con­fer­ence was at­tended by Vanithavedi Pres­i­dent San­tha R Nair, Gen­eral Sec­re­tary Tolly Thomas, Vice Pres­i­dent Sherin Shaju and Pub­lic­ity Con­vener Sa­jtha Skaria.
