Twenty-two fe­male pros­e­cu­tors su­per­vise elec­tions for 1st time

Some 22 fe­male pros­e­cu­tors took their seats yes­ter­day at the main and sub-com­mit­tees over­see­ing the 2016 par­lia­men­tary elec­tions for the first time in the his­tory of Kuwait. The fe­male pros­e­cu­tors shared the re­spon­si­bil­i­ties along with their male peers to chair the elec­toral com­mit­tees for the par­lia­men­tary elec­tions and su­per­vise the process fol­low­ing the de­ci­sion of the supreme ju­di­cial coun­cil which ap­pointed the 22 fe­male pros­e­cu­tors, a step meant to in­dulge women in var­i­ous spheres and high­light their sta­tus in the de­ci­sion mak­ing. —KUNA
