Luis En­rique aims to for­get So­ciedad woe

Barcelona boss Luis En­rique in­sisted the Cata­lan gi­ants strug­gles away at Real So­ciedad will have no im­pact on his side’s prepa­ra­tion when they travel to San Se­bas­tian to­day. The Span­ish cham­pi­ons have a ter­ri­ble re­cent record at Anoeta, fail­ing to win on any of their last six league vis­its in­clud­ing five de­feats. En­rique’s tough­est mo­ment as Barca boss also came af­ter a 1-0 de­feat to then David Moyes’s So­ciedad in Jan­uary 2015 af­ter which sport­ing di­rec­tor An­doni Zu­bizarreta was sacked and En­rique also nearly lost his job. “I am not in­ter­ested in what hap­pened in the past be­cause it doesn’t af­fect what will hap­pen to­mor­row,” En­rique said yes­ter­day. “We are aware of the dif­fi­culty of the game but what hap­pened in the past has no in­flu­ence.” Barca need to avoid another slip up to avoid los­ing more ground on La Liga lead­ers Real Madrid ahead of their clash in El Cla­sico next week­end. Real can ex­tend their lead over Barca to seven points on Satur­day with vic­tory at home to Sport­ing Gi­jon.
