Veteran media personalities honored
The Arab Media Forum held ceremony recently to honor several Kuwaiti and Arab Media personalities who served the Kuwaiti media for more than 20 years. Information Ministry’s Undersecretary Tariq Al-Mizrim, who represented Information Minister, State Minister for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, said it is necessary to “join this group of Arab and Kuwaiti media personalities who served Kuwait’s media in all fields.”
“Those who gave a lot deserve thanks and appreciation for their efforts and we expect more contributions from them in the future,” he said, adding that the honored individuals gave a lot through television, radio and the press, and stressed that Kuwait always thanks those who serve it.
Meanwhile, the Arab Media Forum’s Secretary General Madhi Al-Khamis said the forum is keen on hosting the event every year, and thanked Sheikh Salman AlHumoud for supporting all media-related activities. “The honored personalities set an example for us and we were looking up to them with love as we tell them today ‘thank you,’” he said.
Kuwait Journalists Association’s Treasurer Adnan Al-Rashid thanked the forum’s officials for organizing the celebration, as he lauded efforts of all Arab Journalists and media personalities who helped Kuwait assume a pioneering position in press and media. “they brought out a Kuwaiti generation that is able to continue the march,” he said, describing the honored individuals.
The winners of Cairo Mondial of art and information works were also honored with a plaque, which was presented to the director of programs department at Kuwait Radio Saad Al-Findi on behalf of Information Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Radio Affairs Sheikh Fahad Mubarak Abdallah AlAhmad Al-Sabah, as Kuwait won first place in the Mondial.
The honored media personalities who spent 20 years in the field included the Information Ministry’s Assistant Undersecretary for New Media sector and Information services Yousuf Mustafa, Deputy Director General of KUNA for editorial sector managing editor Saad Al-Ali, KUNA Journalists Jamal Behbehani, Mohammad Shams-el-Deen and Faisal Hareedi, in addition to other media personalities including Ayesha Al-Yahya, Majid AlShatti, Hussein Mulla Ali, Nathira Al-Awadhi and Amani Al-Fiqi.
