Kuwait won’t re­duce Egyp­tian man­power

Egyp­tian min­is­ter of im­mi­gra­tion and Egyp­tians abroad af­fairs Na­bila Makram stressed that Kuwait’s am­bas­sador to Cairo Mo­hammed Saleh Al-Thuwayyekh strongly de­nied any in­ten­tion to re­duce the num­ber of Egyp­tians in Kuwait. Makram added that she met Thuwayyekh to dis­cuss en­hanc­ing co­op­er­a­tion be­tween both coun­tries as part of bi­lat­eral co­op­er­a­tion in var­i­ous fields. She added the ma­jor prob­lem fac­ing the Egyp­tian com­mu­nity in Kuwait and other GCC states is the spon­sor­ship sys­tem. Makram also high­lighted that she was in con­stant con­tact with rel­e­vant Kuwaiti au­thor­i­ties to re­solve the Egyp­tian teach­ers’ rent al­lowance prob­lem.
