Vic­to­ri­ous Kuwait ten­nis play­ers re­turn home

Kuwait Ten­nis team that won the dou­bles gold medal in the men’s and ju­niors Arab Cham­pi­onship that was held in Morocco re­turned home. Pres­i­dent of Kuwait and Arab Ten­nis Fed­er­a­tions Sheikh Ah­mad Al-Jaber AlAb­dal­lah Al-Sabah, Deputy Chair­man of KTF Ab­del­samad Al-Aryan, Board Mem­ber Ali Al-Dai­hani, and PSA rep­re­sen­ta­tive Bashar Al-Kan­dari re­ceived the del­e­ga­tion. Kuwait’s play­ers Mo­ham­mad Al-Gha­reeb and Ab­dal­lah Maqdis won the dou­bles gold medal af­ter beat­ing Morocco’s Khalid Al­loush and Mahdi Jaddi in the fi­nal match 6/3, 6/3.

Sheikh Ah­mad Al-Jaber ex­pressed his sat­is­fac­tion with Al-Gha­reeb and Maqdis’ achieve­ments, and ded­i­cated it to HH The Amir and HH The Crown Prince and Kuwaiti peo­ple.

On the other hand Kuwait was on top of all Arab coun­tries that par­tic­i­pated in Davis Cup, in­clud­ing those in North Africa. Kuwait placed 59th world­wide, fol­lowed by Tunis 65, Morocco 71, Al­ge­ria 83, Le­banon 84, Syria 85, Egypt 95, Qatar 97, UAE 100, Jor­dan 101, Iraq 107, Bahrain 108, Saudi Ara­bia 113, Oman 122 and Libya 132.
