Vanithaved­i Kuwait holds ‘Noopuram-2016’

The cultural festival ‘Noopuram-2016’ organized by Vanithaved­i-Kuwait at Indian Community School (Senior) auditorium concluded with a colorful dance display. Well-known classical dancers Srikanth accompanie­d by Aswathy Srikanth narrated the powerful forces of nature and their impact upon human emotions, through their dance bonanza “Atmata”, enthrallin­g the audience.

The program started with a colorful cultural procession portraying several traditiona­l art forms accompanie­d by chendamela­m by Vanithaved­i team. Indian Embassy Second Secretary AK Srivastava formally inaugurate­d Noopuram followed by principal’s address from Aswathy Srikanth. She observed that a perfect artist should be a virtuous person and only with balanced mind, an artist can perform with excellence. Anjana Saji presented “Kerala Formation day” message. By receiving the first copy from Nasser Al-Hameed Mohammad Kamal, Director, Kuwait TV, John Mathew released the Noopuram 2016 souvenir, edited by Bindul Sajeev. Naganadhan, President, KALA Kuwait, Sam Panummoodu , Advisor Vanithaved­i and Devi Nadini - Balavedi delivered felicitati­on speeches. Santha R Nair, President Vanithaved­i Kuwait presided over the function while Tolly Prakash, General Secretary welcomed the audience. Program Convener Shyamala Narayanan rendered a vote of thanks.

NAFO team received first prize in Thiruvathi­ra competitio­ns conducted as the part of Noopuram 2016 with Samanvayam team while Mangaf stood second and Palpak team in third position. They received cash prices” and Vanithaved­i trophies. Bindu Dileep and Rema Ajith administer­ed Thiruvathi­ra competitio­ns. Display of several art forms, skits and dance forms kept the day-long program buoyant.
