This year witnessed the participation of special needs contestants who successfully took part in the competition, thanks to their determination and enthusiasm, thus achieving a significant milestone in reinforcing their confidence and boosting their hopes.
As always, Ministry of interior and Ministry of Health and medical emergencies have not spared any efforts to support NBK Walkathon’s participants. Additionally, Kuwait Municipality provided an appropriate venue to hold the closing ceremony in Shuwaikh Beach Park. NBK praised the efforts exerted by all parties involved and their supportive role during the race over the past years. The Ministry of Interior deployed patrols along the race route to ensure that it runs smoothly. Medical emergency task force assigned by the Ministry of Health was present around the race vicinity and was fully prepared for any emergencies.
The Kuwaiti Association of Athletics Federations provided its full support to NBK’s Walkathon, with over 100 referees, spreading along the racing route to arbitrate the event. The referees were provided with vehicles stationed in various spots on the Gulf Road, in order to closely follow the race and make their decisions transparently. By the end of the race, NBK held the closing ceremony to award this category’s winners, providing them with a range of diverse and entertaining programs and contests, including the distribution of prizes and surprises.

The audience interacted with the events, as NBK’s team broadcasted full coverage of the event starting from the onset of the race up to the closing and awards ceremony, both on the banks’ website as well as all relevant sites to this huge sporting event, the biggest of its kind in Kuwait and #100millionsteps and #NBKWalkathon.
