Govt supports, encourages national industries: Official
The government is backing and encouraging national industries, Director General of the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) Bader Al-Wugayyan said. This came in Wugayyan’s statement to reporters on Monday, on the sidelines of inaugurating the 6th Industries and Construction Exhibition. He added that the government prioritizes national products in terms of tenders and purchases in accordance with the decisions taken to protect national products.
He referred to instructions given to local factories to increase production capacity to meet the needs of the current and future projects. The prices of construction materials are very suitable and equivalent to the international prices, he said, noting that Kuwait has national products with competitive prices compared with foreign ones. He stressed the high quality of national construction products. Meanwhile, Chairman of Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Ali Al-Ghanem expressed in a similar statement to reporters his happiness for Kuwait’s national products taking part in the exhibition. He extolled the development of all industries at the exhibition, mainly the construction materials.
Dalia Wafaie, CEO of Expo Tag company specialized in organizing exhibitions and conferences, said the exhibition is held on an area of 2000 square meters and showcases all construction materials and others. The event runs until tomorrow, with the participation of 65 local and foreign firms. — KUNA
