Mi­crosoft show­cases so­lu­tions to em­power Tele­com Sec­tor

In line with its com­mit­ment to drive dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion across dif­fer­ent sec­tors, Mi­crosoft par­tic­i­pated in the sixth an­nual Zain Tech­nol­ogy Con­fer­ence held from 5th De­cem­ber to 7th De­cem­ber, at Le Royale Ho­tel in Am­man, Jor­dan. The event, un­der the theme of “Mov­ing For­ward” fo­cused on Zain’s strategy ex­e­cu­tion as it con­tin­ues to­wards its trans­for­ma­tion on be­com­ing a dig­i­tal life­style provider.

Mi­crosoft show­cased in­no­va­tive so­lu­tions at the con­fer­ence; Azure, In­ter­net of Things (IoT) and Of­fice 365, to en­able and aid Zain’s strategy ex­e­cu­tion and sup­port its strate­gic goals.

Steve Dun­bar, Mi­crosoft’s In­ter­net of Things (IoT) Com­mer­cial lead, de­liv­ered a ses­sion ti­tled “IoT - From the Edge to the An­a­lyt­ics”, that fo­cused on how In­ter­net of Things is open­ing a whole new set of strate­gies, pos­si­bil­i­ties and op­por­tu­ni­ties, re­sult­ing in a global ex­plo­sion of new business ideas and lead­ing the way in dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion.

“We are very ex­cited to part­ner with Zain, to help them de­liver on their bold vi­sion of Dig­i­tal In­no­va­tion and par­tic­i­pate in the Zain Tech­nol­ogy Con­fer­ence, which is a unique plat­form for ex­change of knowl­edge and in­for­ma­tion for at­ten­dees to en­vi­sion what tech­nol­ogy can ac­tu­ally do for cus­tomers and the dif­fer­ence it can make in their lives.” Said Charles Na­has, Gen­eral Man­ager, Mi­crosoft Kuwait “Mi­crosoft re­mains com­mit­ted to de­vel­op­ing so­lu­tions for the tele­com in­dus­try en­abling them to em­power their em­ploy­ees gain in­sights, op­ti­mize oper­a­tions and change the na­ture of business mod­els to achieve more.”

Del­e­gates vis­it­ing the Mi­crosoft stand were able to im­merse into dis­cus­sions with Mi­crosoft ex­perts on the Azure cloud plat­form and Of­fice 365, along with In­ter­net of Things, learn­ing more about Mi­crosoft’s Dig­i­tal Trans­for­ma­tion frame­work. Il­lus­trat­ing the scale of dis­rup­tion seen to­day, Mi­crosoft team elab­o­rated on how cloud in­tel­li­gence can be lever­aged to drive business ef­fi­ciency and cater to in­dus­tries in dif­fer­ent stages of dig­i­tal trans­for­ma­tion. The IoT ses­sion dis­cussed how en­ter­prises can de­ploy cloud based so­lu­tions to gen­er­ate valu­able data in­sights, im­prove cus­tomer re­la­tion­ship man­age­ment and en­hance or­ga­ni­za­tional agility.

Zain Tech­nol­ogy Con­fer­ence 2016 com­prised of seven ba­sic stream of top­ics; Smart Net­works, Core Evo­lu­tion, BSS and OSS Dig­i­tal Fu­ture, IT Evo­lu­tion, Qual­ity of Ex­pe­ri­ence, Ser­vice In­no­va­tion and En­ergy Ef­fi­ciency and Site Op­ti­miza­tion. Shared dis­cus­sions were held around re­lated tech­nol­ogy ar­eas amongst business pro­fes­sion­als over the course of three days, also com­pris­ing of ad­vanced level in­ter­ac­tions on Net­work Evo­lu­tion to 5G and Use Cases, Cloud and Vir­tu­al­iza­tion op­por­tu­ni­ties, Tele­com Data An­a­lyt­ics, IoT use cases, VolTE and Video ser­vices.

A big num­ber of at­ten­dees came to the con­fer­ence, with more than 60 rep­re­sen­ta­tives from tech­nol­ogy part­ners. Zain es­tab­lished its uti­liza­tion of lat­est tech­nolo­gies for the devel­op­ment of so­lu­tions in ar­eas of Ma­chine to Ma­chine com­mu­ni­ca­tions, En­ter­prise Of­fer­ings and Smart City con­nec­tiv­ity, en­hanc­ing its ex­ist­ing business in­fras­truc­ture and cus­tomer ser­vices.
