Min­is­ter sets pri­or­ity of restor­ing con­fi­dence in ed­u­ca­tional in­sti­tu­tions

KUWAIT: Min­is­ter of Ed­u­ca­tion and Min­is­ter of Higher Ed­u­ca­tion Dr Mo­ham­mad Ab­du­latif Al-Fares yes­ter­day said that restor­ing con­fi­dence in the teach­ing in­sti­tu­tions, high­light­ing achieve­ments and de­vel­op­ment are ma­jor files he will fo­cus on.

In spite of the nu­mer­ous achieve­ments of the Min­istry of Ed­u­ca­tion, it was dealt with un­justly, as peo­ple have fo­cused on the neg­a­tive as­pects more than pos­i­tive ones, Fares told well-wish­ers who vis­ited him to con­grat­u­late the min­is­ter on be­ing en­trusted with the port­fo­lio.

Fares vowed to shed light on the achieve­ments and the pos­i­tive sides of the min­istry over the com­ing pe­riod, as well as reaf­firm­ing that the de­vel­op­ment process would carry on. The min­is­ter stated that prior at­ten­tion will be paid to teach­ers, the cor­ner­stone of the ed­u­ca­tion process. He said he would do his best to have a teach­ers’ law is­sued. School cur­ric­ula will also be given due care, to­gether with the school en­vi­ron­ment.—
