In the National Campaigns category, Zain won for its National Day TVC 2016 - Ya Bilady, which was released in line with Kuwait’s National Day celebrations in February, and was dedicated to the people of Kuwait and to HH the Amir on the occasion of his 10-year ascendency to power, and received overwhelming feedback as soon as it was first released on January 29th.

The National Day Production entitled ‘Ya Bilady’ - translates to ‘My Country’ - reached nearly 4 million views on Zain’s official YouTube channel, and was prepared throughout a period of three months, and witnessed the participation of 150 Kuwaiti children from various public and private schools. The children were trained for many weeks before shooting, and were involved in several training sessions.

The shooting of the production took place in various locations in Kuwait, including the Shaheed Park and the Mubarikya Traditional Souk. These locations were specifically handpicked to reflect the TVC’s nationalistic spirit and provide a patriotic scene. Zain introduced this production in two versions, the first as a regular musical video, and the second for the first time in Kuwait, the company utilized a video using the 360 camera technology, which allowed viewers to enjoy virtual maneuvering while watching the video, as if the viewer is actually living the moment.

In the Ramadan Commercials category, Zain won the award for its Ramadan TVC 2016 - Live in Peace, which aimed at spreading a universal message of peace, and reached over 11 million views on YouTube. The commercial’s message of peace is at the heart of the concept, and is a message that resonated with everyone. The main hero in the commercial was the renowned Moroccan artist Saad Lamjarred, who happened to be the highest viewed artist in the Arab world. The TVC also featured Indian child superstar, Harshaali Malhotra, who has gained massive popularity after co-staring in a famous Indian film, also about peace.

Zain was also awarded for its Eid Al Fitir TVC 2016 - Let’s Sing, which reached nearly 18 million views on YouTube, and also aimed at spreading the messages of peace and love. The company was also awarded with the Social Responsibility Creativity Award, which recognized Zain’s various social and humanitarian campaigns launched throughout the year 2016 in line with the company’s Corporate Sustainably and Social Responsibility strategy.

It is worth noting that Zain participated in a Public Relations and Marketing discussion panel that came as part of the Advertising Creativity Award 2016 organized by the Arab Media Forum. The event, held in Al Raya ballroom, featured a number of prominent experts, academics, and specialists in the fields of public relations, marketing, and advertising. This awarding comes in light of Zain’s distinguished advertising and media involvement, and it further showcases the company’s role as a leading private sector company launching several marketing and advertising campaigns all year round.

Zain will continue supporting this very important field which carries significant and informative messaging to the public at large and the communications world as a whole, whether through traditional or modern media tools. The Advertising Creativity Award 2016 was organized for the fourth year by the Arab Media Forum, which has proven itself to be one of the region’s most prominent events that attend to Arab Media. The event brought together many ministers, media executives, journalists, academics, authors, actors, businessmen, and social figures from all around the Arab world.
