Cou­ple’s ve­hi­cles set ablaze in Qairawan

A Kuwaiti cit­i­zen work­ing for the Min­istry of Elec­tric­ity and Wa­ter re­ported recently that his and his wife’s lux­u­ri­ous ve­hi­cles were in­cin­er­ated while parked out­side the fam­ily’s house in Qairawan. The man told po­lice that his neigh­bor said that he had seen a golden sports util­ity ve­hi­cle (SUV) near the two ve­hi­cles when the fire broke out. A case was filed and fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tions are in progress.

Fugi­tive ar­rested

A bedoon (state­less) man was recently ar­rested in Fer­dous when po­lice­men found that he is wanted for at­tempted mur­der, dam­ag­ing per­sonal prop­erty and a fi­nan­cial claim, said se­cu­rity sources. The man was ap­pre­hended at a check­point and taken to the proper au­thor­i­ties to face charges, the sources added.

Brawl af­ter ac­ci­dent

A sim­ple traf­fic ac­ci­dent was the rea­son of start­ing a fight be­tween two fe­male cit­i­zens in Salmiya, said se­cu­rity sources, not­ing that in ad­di­tion to the ac­ci­dent re­port, both women filed cases in which they ex­changed as­sault ac­cu­sa­tions.

Fam­ily dis­putes

A wo­man threw her hus­band out of their apart­ment af­ter he beat her up fol­low­ing a fam­ily dis­pute, tak­ing ad­van­tage of the fact that the lease contract is signed with her name only. The man had to spent the fol­low­ing few hours roam­ing around, be­fore po­lice called and sum­moned him to the po­lice sta­tion where his wife filed an as­sault re­port, said se­cu­rity sources. A case was filed and fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tions are in progress.

Smug­gling foiled

An Ira­nian man was recently ar­rested at Doha port where cus­tom in­spec­tors foiled his at­tempt to smug­gle tons of medicines, herbs and chem­i­cal sub­stances used in hair trans­plant, which he had hid­den in­side his wooden boat.

Abor­tion sus­pect de­tained

Fol­low­ing the ar­rest of a doc­tor for con­duct­ing il­le­gal abor­tions, a Syr­ian wo­man who is also wanted to serve an eight-year pri­son sen­tence for pro­vid­ing abor­tion ser­vices, was recently ar­rested while hid­ing at her brother’s house in Salwa.
