Dubai Parks and Re­sorts cel­e­brates in­au­gu­ra­tion with gala spec­tac­u­lar

DUBAI: At a press con­fer­ence yes­ter­day in front of the world’s me­dia, Dubai Parks and Re­sorts marked the open­ing of its third theme park, MO­TION­GATE Dubai and con­firmed the des­ti­na­tion’s in­au­gu­ra­tion cer­e­mony will take place to­mor­row in the pres­ence of UAE dig­ni­taries.

Over 1,500 of the world’s me­dia, UAE dig­ni­taries and celebri­ties will at­tend the for­mal in­au­gu­ra­tion of Dubai Parks and Re­sorts, the re­gion’s lead­ing theme park des­ti­na­tion. 200 chil­dren have also been in­vited to at­tend the event in co­op­er­a­tion with the Awqaf and Mi­nors af­fairs foun­da­tion and the Make A Wish Foun­da­tion.

The event, which is be­ing held in a spe­cially built arena over the river at River­land Dubai, will show­case each of its three theme parks in a very spe­cial show in­volv­ing the dancers and ac­tors from Dubai Parks and Re­sorts’ live en­ter­tain­ment team. The show will also fea­ture a live per­for­mance of the Dubai Parks and Re­sorts of­fi­cial theme song en­ti­tled “All the Won­ders of the Uni­verse” by the com­poser him­self, academy award win­ner Alan Menken who has writ­ten the scores for many of the world’s most fa­mous an­i­mated movies.

The fi­nale will light up the sky above the 30.6 mil­lion square feet des­ti­na­tion with a py­rotech­nic spec­tac­u­lar. The show will be filmed live by the of­fi­cial me­dia part­ner, Dubai Me­dia In­cor­po­rated (DMI) and screened for guests in the parks and for res­i­dents and visi­tors at lo­ca­tions across Dubai.

The fes­tiv­ity marks the of­fi­cial in­au­gu­ra­tion of all three theme parks: MO­TION­GATE Dubai, the first ever collaboration be­tween three of Hol­ly­wood’s most leg­endary stu­dios, Columbia Pic­tures, Dream-Works and Lion­s­gate; LE­GOLAND Dubai, the first LE­GOLAND theme park in the Mid­dle East; and Bol­ly­wood Parks Dubai, a first-of-its-kind theme park that show­cases rides and at­trac­tion based on some of Bol­ly­wood’s big­gest block­busters. It will also host the LE­GOLAND Wa­ter Park, the re­gion’s first wa­ter park cater­ing to fam­i­lies with chil­dren aged 2-12. The en­tire des­ti­na­tion is con­nected by River­land Dubai - a uniquely themed re­tail and din­ing des­ti­na­tion, and guests will be able to stay at the Lapita Ho­tel, a Poly­ne­sian themed fam­ily ho­tel part of the Mar­riott Au­to­graph Col­lec­tion. Ex­pected to open in late 2019, Six Flags Dubai will be des­ti­na­tions fourth theme park and the re­gions first Six Flags themed park.

The en­tire des­ti­na­tion is con­nected by River­land Dubai - a uniquely themed re­tail and din­ing des­ti­na­tion at the heart of Dubai Parks and Re­sorts, and guests can stay at the Lapita Ho­tel, a Poly­ne­sian themed fam­ily ho­tel part of the Mar­riott Au­to­graph Col­lec­tion.

Lo­cated on Sheikh Zayed Road op­po­site the Palm Jebel Ali in Dubai equidis­tant to Dubai and Abu Dhabi In­ter­na­tional Air­ports the des­ti­na­tion of­fers over 100 rides and at­trac­tions.
