Arabs need to co­op­er­ate on hous­ing: Saudi min­is­ter

It is im­per­a­tive to boost co­op­er­a­tion amongst Arab na­tions in the hous­ing and re­con­struc­tion sec­tor to meet the as­pi­ra­tions of Arab peo­ple, Saudi Min­is­ter of Hous­ing Ma­jid AlHuqayl said yes­ter­day.

The Saudi min­is­ter made the re­marks dur­ing the 33rd ses­sion of the Coun­cil of Arab Hous­ing and Re­con­struc­tion Min­is­ters in the Saudi cap­i­tal, with par­tic­i­pa­tion of Kuwait’s Min­is­ter of State for Hous­ing Af­fairs Yasser Abul.

More­over, Huqayl said that such meet­ings aim to en­sure that qual­ity hous­ing is pro­vided for all Arab na­tions, ad­ding that the meet­ing is also an op­por­tu­nity to share suc­cess­ful ex­pe­ri­ences in the hous­ing sec­tor. He also spoke of a con­certed Arab hous­ing strat­egy which will be in­stru­men­tal in en­sur­ing sus­tained de­vel­op­ment in the Arab re­gion, high­light­ing the need for in­creased real es­tate and hous­ing projects. The is­sues ex­pected to be dis­cussed dur­ing the meet­ing run the gamut from res­i­den­tial so­ci­eties and re­con­struc­tion to the for­ma­tion of a data­base to help bring the coun­cil’s goals to fruition, in ad­di­tion to a myr­iad of is­sues ger­mane to the hous­ing sec­tor in the Arab world. —KUNA
