Arabs need to cooperate on housing: Saudi minister
It is imperative to boost cooperation amongst Arab nations in the housing and reconstruction sector to meet the aspirations of Arab people, Saudi Minister of Housing Majid AlHuqayl said yesterday.
The Saudi minister made the remarks during the 33rd session of the Council of Arab Housing and Reconstruction Ministers in the Saudi capital, with participation of Kuwait’s Minister of State for Housing Affairs Yasser Abul.
Moreover, Huqayl said that such meetings aim to ensure that quality housing is provided for all Arab nations, adding that the meeting is also an opportunity to share successful experiences in the housing sector. He also spoke of a concerted Arab housing strategy which will be instrumental in ensuring sustained development in the Arab region, highlighting the need for increased real estate and housing projects. The issues expected to be discussed during the meeting run the gamut from residential societies and reconstruction to the formation of a database to help bring the council’s goals to fruition, in addition to a myriad of issues germane to the housing sector in the Arab world. —KUNA
