ASSE Kuwait Chap­ter con­ducts ASP prepara­tory work­shop

Amer­i­can So­ci­ety of Safety En­gi­neers (ASSE), Kuwait Chap­ter or­ga­nized 4 days work­shop on ASP Prepa­ra­tion ex­clu­sively for ASSE Mem­bers. The pro­gram planned to con­duct in 4 con­sec­u­tive Fri­days started from 18th Novem­ber 2016 till 9th De­cem­ber 2016 at Best West­ern Ho­tel, Mah­boula, State of Kuwait. Amer­i­can So­ci­ety of Safety En­gi­neers (ASSE) Kuwait Chap­ter is Kuwait’s premier vol­un­tary and non-profit or­ga­ni­za­tion pro­vid­ing pro­fes­sional guid­ance, train­ing and con­sul­tancy; in the field of Health, Safety and En­vi­ron­ment; to the in­dus­trial and so­cial sec­tors in the re­gion.

ASSE Kuwait Chap­ter ad­heres it­self to solid so­cial com­mit­ment and ac­tively shoul­ders many so­cially re­spon­si­ble and com­mu­nity ser­vice ac­tiv­i­ties. Rama Krushna Chary, Pres­i­dent of ASSE Kuwait Chap­ter in his wel­come note, briefed about the im­por­tance of Cer­ti­fi­ca­tions in Safety Pro­fes­sion. The head of Chap­ter’s Ca­reer and Pro­fes­sional De­vel­op­ment Com­mit­tee, Aamir Rasheed, thanked all the par­tic­i­pa­tion for their par­tic­i­pa­tion and in­vited the speak­ers. Khaled Yousry pre­sented the Do­main 5 and 6 of Oc­cu­pa­tional Health and En­vi­ron­men­tal Man­age­ment on 18th Novem­ber 2016.

N Va­sude­van pre­sented Do­main 2 and 4 (Safety Man­age­ment Sys­tem and Fire Preven­tion and Pro­tec­tion) on 25th Novem­ber 2016. N Va­sude­van is work­ing in field of HS&E for past 25 years. He is qual­i­fied fire En­gi­neer with post grad­u­a­tion cer­ti­fi­ca­tion in safety. He is a cer­ti­fied HAZOP Ex­pert, Lead OHSAS 18001 and ISO14001 au­di­tor. He is a cer­ti­fied safety Pro­fes­sional CSP BCSP USA. Va­sude­van has held var­i­ous po­si­tions in ASSE Kuwait chap­ter Ex­ec­u­tive com­mit­tee since year 2004 and is past Pres­i­dent (201213) of ASSE Kuwait Chap­ter. He was di­rec­tor of ASSE Kuwait chap­ter pro­fes­sional de­vel­op­ment con­fer­ence in 2015.

He is part of ad­vi­sory com­mit­tee of ASSE Kuwait chap­ter. He started his ca­reer as En­gi­neer Trainee in Hin­dus­tan Petroleum Cor­po­ra­tion Visag re­fin­ery and pro­moted to Deputy Man­ager- Fire and Safety. He joined Kuwait na­tional Petroleum Com­pany MAA as Safety En­gi­neer in the year 2001 He has wide range of ex­pe­ri­ence in field and has con­ducted var­i­ous spe­cial­ized train­ing pro­gram in the field of HSE. He has also pre­sented tech­ni­cal pa­pers at var­i­ous fo­rums in­clud­ing at ASSE Kuwait PDC 2009 and ASSE Mid­dle east chap­ter PDC in year 2011 at Bahrain. He has been ac­tively in­volved in de­vel­op­ment of var­i­ous pro­ce­dures in­clud­ing In­ci­dent in­ves­ti­ga­tion, Emer­gency pre­pared­ness plan, Con­trac­tor HSE man­age­ment sys­tem and work per­mit sys­tem.

Sa­j­jadus­sain Siddiqui pre­sented on Do­main 1 Math­e­mat­ics on 2nd De­cem­ber 2016 and Do­main 3 Er­gonomics on 9th De­cem­ber 2016. Siddiqui is a Chem­i­cal En­gi­neer, As­so­ciate Safety Pro­fes­sional from BCSP, with more than 14+ years of in-depth ex­pe­ri­ence in Petro­chem­i­cal In­dus­try and worked in dif­fer­ent plants like Poly­eth­yl­ene, Butene-1, Sul­folane Pro­duc­tion Units. De­tailed study and re­view­ing of Process De­sign Pack­age Iso-Pen­tane pu­rifi­ca­tion and stor­age fa­cil­ity, pre com­mis­sion­ing/com­mis­sion­ing. In­volved in re­vamp of Butene-1 plant. Presently work­ing with EQUATE Petro­chem­i­cal Com­pany, EHS Depart­ment as EH&S De­liv­ery Leader.

Go­la­mari Sam­path Reddy pre­sented Do­main 7 Train­ing, Ed­u­ca­tion, and Com­mu­ni­ca­tion on 9th De­cem­ber 2016. Sam­path Reddy is work­ing in field of Oil and Gas sec­tor for the past 25 years. Reddy started his ca­reer in Up­stream Oil and Gas com­pany ONGC a Na­tional E&P com­pany in In­dia. He joined ONGC as Grad­u­ate Me­chan­i­cal En­gi­neer in the year 1989 and worked as Me­chan­i­cal en­gi­neer on one of the On land Oil rig for six Years. Later in the year 1995 he shifted to HSE and gained max­i­mum ex­pe­ri­ence through par­tic­i­pa­tion in Oil and Gas drilling HSE field. For his ef­forts he has been pro­moted by the com­pany pe­ri­od­i­cally. In the year 2003 he joined In­sti­tute of En­gi­neer­ing and Ocean Tech­nol­ogy as cor­ro­sion en­gi­neer.

Dur­ing his brief stint up to the year 2006, he was in­stru­men­tal in di­ag­nos­ing and an­a­lyz­ing var­i­ous cor­ro­sion re­lated is­sues in Oil and Gas on­shore and off­shore pipe­lines and rec­om­mend­ing suit­able ma­te­rial of con­struc­tion. Later in the year 2006, he joined Kuwait Oil Com­pany (KOC), Kuwait an up­stream oil and Gas com­pany, as Drilling HSE En­gi­neer. Dur­ing the last 10 years he con­tin­ued his ef­forts in KOC in im­ple­men­ta­tion of HSE Man­age­ment sys­tem. He is ac­tively in­volved in devel­op­ing ma­jor HSE MS pro­ce­dures in Drilling and Well Sur­veil­lance.

In ad­di­tion is one of the key mem­ber in the KOC HSE MS Pro­ce­dural de­vel­op­ment com­mit­tee. For his ef­forts he is be­ing pro­moted by KOC and he presently des­ig­nated as Spe­cial­ist Safety. He is qual­i­fied Me­chan­i­cal En­gi­neer with post grad­u­a­tion in In­dus­trial Met­al­lurgy. He has also com­pleted Diploma in Safety man­age­ment from Bri­tish Safety Coun­cil. He is also a cer­ti­fied Lead OHSAS 18001 and ISO14001 au­di­tor. He is a cer­ti­fied safety Pro­fes­sional (CSP) by BCSP, USA and Char­tered Mem­ber of IOSH (CMIOSH), UK. Cur­rently he is hold­ing the po­si­tion of Ad­vi­sory Com­mit­tee mem­ber in ASSE Kuwait Chap­ter. He held all the po­si­tions in ASSE Kuwait Chap­ter since 2006.

Started as Sub-com­mit­tee mem­ber of Pub­li­ca­tion Com­mit­tee, Head of the Pub­li­ca­tion Com­mit­tee, Trea­surer, Sec­re­tary, Vice-Pres­i­dent and Pres­i­dent. In ad­di­tion to the above, he was a work­ing Or­ga­niz­ing Com­mit­tee Mem­ber of ASSE Kuwait Chap­ter Pro­fes­sional De­vel­op­ment Con­fer­ences held dur­ing the years 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015. He ac­tively par­tic­i­pate in the or­ga­niz­ing com­mit­tee of GCC HSE Ex­cel­lence Award pro­grams of 2012,2013, 2014 and 2015.

25 ASSE Mem­bers uti­lized this dis­tinct op­por­tu­nity and ben­e­fit­ted from the pro­gram.
