A word with So­phie Parou, about the art of pas­try and cho­co­late mak­ing

Af­ter an amaz­ing live demon­stra­tion of the art of pas­try and cho­co­late mak­ing "Pas­try Live & Be­yond Chap­ter IV" by France and Mid­dle East Co (FAME) last month, So­phie Parou, CEO of FAME, shared with Kuwait Times some se­crets of FAME and its jour­ney in Kuwait over the years.

Kuwait Times: Tell us more about FAME.

Parou: FAME Co's motto is 'qual­ity, tra­di­tion and rich­ness.' Its mis­sion is to bring the best pos­si­ble qual­ity of cho­co­late, baked prod­ucts, pas­try, raw ma­te­rial and equip­ment from Europe and of­fer them to Kuwait and the GCC. Its ob­jec­tive is to pro­mote max­i­mum cre­ativ­ity and in­no­va­tion in the field of pas­try, cho­co­late and bak­ing. KT: Can you eval­u­ate the suc­cess of Fame's lat­est event?

Parou: Pas­try Live and be­yond Chap­ter IV was a com­plete suc­cess and on a scale from 0 to 10, I would say we achieved a good 9.

KT: As the CEO of FAME, what value did you add to the com­pany's achieve­ment over the last five years?

Parou: A good man­age­ment, with good team spirit and per­for­mance to­wards clients. How­ever, a man­ager also keeps in touch with mar­ket changes in terms of taste and de­mands. Ac­cord­ingly, I be­lieve my good un­der­stand­ing of the mar­ket as well as my sourc­ing skills have def­i­nitely led FAME to be­ing one of the most dy­namic food com­pany in the mar­ket to­day.

KT: Tell us about the orig­i­nal­ity and spe­cialty of your prod­ucts com­pared to what the com­peti­tors of­fer?

Parou: Our prod­ucts make a state­ment in them­selves they are cre­ative un­like the other items that are al­ready in the mar­ket.

KT: Do you think the Kuwaiti com­mu­nity ap­pre­ci­ates your in­dus­try?

Parou: I be­lieve a good com­pany is not one that is fol­lowed by con­sumers, but rather the one that fol­lows the con­sumer's needs and de­mands, and al­lows it­self to ma­neu­ver changes ac­cord­ingly. KT: What will your fu­ture projects be about? Parou: FAME is pre­par­ing for Pas­try Live & Be­yond Chap­ter V next year, but my cur­rent wish is to in­tro­duce Kuwait to the fa­mous world­wide pas­try/cho­co­late com­pe­ti­tion held in France. I do be­lieve that Kuwait is ready for such a chal­lenge. KT: Will the next event have new and cre­ative ideas? Parou: Chap­ter V will be big­ger with even more spec­ta­cle than the pre­vi­ous chap­ters. How­ever, we will only see this in 2018.
