Policeman hurt in hot pursuit

A traffic policeman was rushed to Adan Hospital for treatment for injuries he suffered after his vehicle flipped over during a chase in Sabahiya. The policeman responded to a call about reckless driving in Sabahiya, but lost control of his car during the chase. Police are looking for the fugitive driver.

Maid commits suicide

An Asian maid jumped to her death from the window of a domestic help office in Hawally. Her body was recovered by the coroner. The maid was returned earlier by her sponsor because she wanted to go back to her country. Police have launched an investigat­ion.

Hit-and-run

A Pakistani man was rushed to Adan Hospital and admitted inside the intensive care unit (ICU) in critical condition after he was run over on Fahaheel Expressway. Detectives are looking for the culprit, who fled the scene.

Duo deported again

Two Bangladesh­is, who are very close friends and who were deported from the country six years ago, were arrested and deported once again. Police stopped the two who did not have IDs, but upon inquiries, they were discovered to have been deported twice before. Both had returned to Kuwait using forged passports a year ago. The two were sent to the deportatio­n center.

Cop, cabby fight

A police officer and a taxi driver ended up at the police station for exchanging blows. The off-duty officer got into an argument with the Egyptian taxi driver in Mirqab after the taxi driver swerved towards him. The officer then stopped him and got into a fight.
