Inter school elocution - ICS Salmiya and DPS win

Friday Forum held its 11th Annual Elocution contest in early January with both juniors and seniors elocution contests. Twenty three tudents from 13 different Indian schools competed. The event began with a beautiful Quran recitation by a wonderful kid Hima Jameela.

For the ' juniors' content, the topic given was "Islam and Environmen­tal Protection". The three judges were Afzal Ali, Shathaa Shamiya and Bashar Khan. Three winners were selected. First prize went to Shoaib Javed Shahna (Delhi Public School), Second prize was grabbed by Yusra Asad Khan (Indian Learners Own Academy) and Third prize went to Mishal Kandapath (Delhi Public School).

For the 'seniors' elocution contest, the topic was "Maintainin­g communal harmony, a believer's responsibi­lity." Judges were Yousif Naif, Imran Shaik and Abdullah Al Mehdi. Senior winners were: First prize Mohammed Mishal (Indian Community School Senior, Salmiya), Second prize was bagged by Sayed Mujitabah (Jabariya Indian School) and Third prize went to Fudail Javed Ansari (Indian Learners Own Academy).

Consolatio­n prizes were also given to Deva Prabha Siva Prasad (Indian Community School, Khaitan) and Christy Mervin (Indian Community School, Khaitan).

Friday Forum President Munawar Mohammed, Joint Secretary Sayam Basher and Executive Member Dr. Abdul Kader handed out the prizes. Shinan Abdurahima­n served as master of ceremonies.
