Inmate with AIDS dies at Central Prison

KUWAIT: A security source said that a Kuwaiti AIDS patient died in his solitary cell. The inmate, in his forties, was serving a jail sentence at the central prison. Forensics personnel recovered the body and disinfecte­d the cell and surroundin­gs.

Fraud

Director General of Ahmadi security sent two Asian nationals to criminal detectives for buying and selling state-owned fuel. A police patrol in Fahaheel noticed a fuel tanker parked next to a bus with a hosepipe between them. When the driver was questioned, he said that he purchases fuel at a lower rate from the tanker driver.

Man dead in fire

Kuwait Fire Services Directorat­e’s investigat­ors are looking for the cause of a fire that killed an Asian man in a makeshift room and damaged four vehicles in Taima.

Liquor factory

A liquor factory was discovered in Mangaf during an inspection campaign on ‘bachelor’ residences. Officers noticed two rooms open with no one inside. They found out that one of the rooms was used for making liquor and the other for prostituti­on, which was divided into smaller sections, each with a bed.

Employee escapes

An Indian whose sponsor gave him KD 350 to pay for traffic violations left the country with it, prompting his sponsor to file theft charges against him. The sponsor told Sabah Al-Salem police that he asked his driver to pay for his traffic violations as he was running late. Police later found that he had already left the country.

Firearm stolen

Detectives are searching for a thief who stole a licensed firearm from a citizen’s car in Sabah Al-Salem. The citizen said he found his shotgun missing with 50 cartridges, adding that the car had been broken into. — Al-Anbaa
