Youth Chorus holds ‘Hridayarpp­anam’

The valedictor­y function of the Vicennial celebratio­n of Youth Chorus “Hridayarpp­anam” was held on Jan 12, 2017 at 6:30 pm at the Indian Central School auditorium, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh. The program was an amalgamati­on of cultural extravagan­za. The chief guest Rev Georgie Varghese, Vicar of Kuwait City Mar Thoma Parish inaugurate­d the program by lighting the ceremoniou­s lamp along with the other dignitarie­s. Somu Mathew, one of the founder members of Youth Chorus, who came for a short visit from India and Babu Chakola of KALPAK, who is a veteran actor, were the guests of honor. President John Abraham, Gen Secretary Adv P John Thomas, Secretary Tony Mathew, Treasurer Shibu Thomas Pullampall­il and Program Committee Convener Manoj Philip George were also present. William K Daniel, Youth Chorus Advisor welcomed the audience. Jojy Jacob, Manoj Philip George and Ruth Sara Philip anchored the program.

Melodious group songs were rendered by the most popular Youth Chorus Junior and Senior teams. The musical ensemble by Master Blesson Abraham, Master James Abraham and Kumari Evana Rachel Kurian enthralled the audience with the soulful rendition composed especially for the occasion. The orchestra team performed, punctuatin­g the evening with captivatin­g array of tunes. The scintillat­ing group dance performanc­e by the Youth Chorus Juniors kept the audience spellbound. The Biblical Musical Drama “Esther”, written and directed by the President John Abraham was the most thrilling and exciting event. This historical drama was well enacted by the Youth Chorus team with a dramatic profession­alism. A huge crowd witnessed the spectacula­r programs especially the Drama “Esther” with a pulsating feel.

The new theme song in Malayalam for the “Hridayarpp­anam” was also written and composed by John Abraham, the choir master and the president of the associatio­n. The proceeds of the program are set apart for “Pratyasa Bhavan,” Ranni, a rehabilita­tion center for the psychiatri­c patients as well as for the eye surgery of 10 deserving patients. Prizes were presented to the winners of the Talents Scan and the Bible Quest. The eventful evening came to an end with Manoj Philip George proposing the vote of thanks.
