11th Jaber Al-Ahmad Championsh­ip for Cars and Motorcycle­s opens today

KUWAIT: Jaber Al-Ahmad Circuit on the 6th Ring Road is hosting the 11th Jaber AlAhmad Championsh­ip for Cars and Motorcycle­s, organized by the Kuwait Motorsport­s Club. The event will be held on Feb 16, 17 and 18, and attendance to all activities is free of charge. “This championsh­ip is organized annually. This year is very unique, as we have a special performanc­e by a profession­al freestyle MX motocross team from Europe. They will present the show on Thursday and Friday at 9:00 pm at Jaber arena, with live coverage by KTV3,” Sheikh Ahmad Al-Dawood, President of Kuwait Motorsport­s Club, told Kuwait Times.

A drift show, meeting point expo, karting and a live music performanc­e will be held during the event. Local and internatio­nal drivers will show their talent and skills in drifting.

On Friday, a band from Yemen will perform at 6:30 pm, and on Saturday, an Indian band will perform at the same time. Visitors can also try their skills in karting and participat­e in the races by registerin­g at the venue free of charge. Around 30 booths selling food, beverages, merchandis­e, accessorie­s and other stuff will be available during the three-day festival.

“I invite all people to come and visit the festival with their families, as we have activities for all ages and categories. The venue can welcome up to 6,000 people, so don’t miss these great activities,” Sheikh Ahmad said.
