Kuwait Cultural Week in Tunisia concludes
The Kuwait Cultural Week in Tunisia concluded Tuesday evening with performing of the ‘Sad Family’ play at Mohamed Jamoussi Cultural Center in Sfax. The performance attracted a large audience including officials, artists and ordinary people who were eager to get a glimpse of the Kuwaiti theatric movement.
“With a range of musical concerts, formative art and photo galleries, a lecture on heritage and antiquities delivered by Sheikha Farah AlSabah and a play performance, Kuwait Cultural Week has succeeded in showing part of the Kuwaiti culture,” Kuwaiti Ambassador in Tunis Ali Al-Thufeiri said in a statement. He noted that culture weeks are playing a significant role in promoting cultures of states and cementing people-to-people relations as well as the cultural cooperation between countries. “They also contribute to the development of human civilization,” Thufeiri added. The Kuwait’s Cultural Week in Tunisia has coincided with Tunisia’s celebrations marking ‘Sfax Capital of Arabic Culture for 2016.’The event, kicked off on February 25th, featured art galleries, plays, lectures and seminars all performing under the umbrella of Kuwait’s National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL).
Meanwhile, general coordinator of the Sfax Capital of Arabic Culture for 2016 event Hoda Al-Kasho stressed that the main goal of the cultural weeks is to promote the Arab culture with its diversity and richness. She expressed admiration of the Kuwaiti Cultural Week and its impressive activities. The Kuwaiti Week has shown Tunisians the mesmerizing Kuwaiti popular culture, folklore and arts, she said. Kasho said that Tunisia is looking forwards to launching cultural partnerships with Kuwait that pave the way for joint cultural and artistic production. — KUNA
