ASSE-Kuwait holds its 219th Technical Meet
American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), Kuwait Chapter is a premier voluntary, Non-profit Health, Safety and Environmental organization, which strives to provide professional guidance, training, consultancy and resources to the industrial and social sectors in the region. As a part of continuous efforts in its professional journey, ASSEKuwait Chapter organized its 219th Technical Meet (9th in the term 2016-17) on two technical topics (1). The Leader’s Challenge - Seeing and Understanding Risk in the Oil and Gas Industry” (2). Integrated Crisis and Business Continuity Plan”.
The Technical Meet began with the Opening address by Rama Krushna Chary, President ASSE Kuwait Chapter and Sanjay Jaiswal in his opening remarks briefed about upcoming ASSE GCC HSE Excellence Award 2017. Adnan Yousef, Head of Technical Events Committee introduced the speakers for the Tech event Daryl Wake & Ram Kumar who are skilled leaders and safety experts.
Daryl Wake, Senior Consultant - EMEA, Former non-commissioned officer in the Royal Australian Navy and longtime health and safety expert has improved safety for companies around the world in some of the most high-risk industries and challenging locations. He holds an International Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health from the British Safety Council and Six Sigma yellow- and green-belt certifications. A native of Australia, he now lives in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He has presented the topic “The Leader’s Challenge - Seeing and Understanding Risk in the Oil and Gas Industry”
Later Nachupally Ram Kumar highlights the importance of Integrated Crisis and Business Continuity Plan, Core values, business aspects and elements involved for Crisis and Business Continuity Management, Crisis Communication strategy, principles and framework, ERP, Risk Management process. He emphasized on the importance of organizational core business values, safeguarding the interests of stakeholder, emphasizing increase the likelihood of achieving business objectives meeting assertively and focusing on the essential features of emergency, risk management, crisis and business continuity management to resilience with the following suggestions and recommendations as per the international standards and code practices strategic proactive management approach.
As an Honor of Appreciation, ASSE Kuwait chapters Core Committee honored the speakers with a memento for his excellent and skillful presentation. Technical Meet concluded with close out speech of Sunil Sadanad, Treasurer of ASSE Kuwait Chapter who thanked the Speakers for giving an insight on the topics. He thanked the Technical Events committee for the arrangements and all the participants, who attended the technical meet.
