Qualitynet’s QRun kids marathon becomes Kuwait’s first children’s marathon

Qualitynet, Kuwait’s #1 ICT, Data Communicat­ions & Internet Services Provider conducted Kuwait’s First Kids Marathon ‘QRun’ at Murouj for kids between the ages of 2 and 9 years. The event which was held in support of Bayt Abdullah’s Kids, saw a turn-up of over 300 kids, and was a roaring success.

The QRun Marathon was divided into 3 age groups, and the top 3 girls and boys from each category were rewarded. The youngest group also called “Tiny Ones”, was for ages 2 till 4 years covering a distance of 500 meters. In the girls category, Aayaa Alqallaf came first, while Zeina Elhariry came second and Rasha Abdulsalam came third. In the boy’s category, Abdulalla AlDashti came first, while Ali Soliman came second and Omar Al-Shukri came third. The mid category called “Little Ones” was for ages 5 till 6 years covering a distance of 750 meters. In the girl’s category, Lou-Ann Madelmont came first, while Zainah Al-Saffar came second and Ruqayah AlSaeed came third. In the boy’s category, Fahd AlShalfan came first, while Adam Azzouz came second and Waleed Al-Mukaimi came third. The final category, also called “Big Ones”, was for ages 7 till 9 years and covered a distance of 1 Kilometer. In the girl’s category, Seba Sultan came first, while Bashayer Hamadi came second and Delina Lledos came third. In the boy’s category, Ammar Abulkhair came first, while Abdulrahma­n Qanbar came second and James Penkethman came third.

Different nationalit­ies

Mohammed Al-Nusif, CEO - Qualitynet distribute­d the awards for the winners. In a statement he gave after the event, Mohammed said he was delighted with the great success of the Marathon, a first in Kuwait amid a large number of children from different nationalit­ies including Kuwait, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, France, Britain and the US. He especially appreciate­d the cooperatio­n with Pro-Vision sport Management, who partnered with Qualitynet for the event to support the kids at Bayt Abdullah. “Our goal is to support a healthy and active lifestyle among residents in Kuwait, and we believe the practice should start early in life. As a brand, we invest in Social Responsibi­lity initiative­s, and this Marathon is a message to all, stressing on the need to exercise in order to stay healthy and fit, especially in a nation that occupies a high place on nations with high diabetes rates”, said Mohammed.

He pointed out that Qualitynet has been actively involved in supporting sports activities aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles. In addition, the company also sponsors a group of individual­s who are establishe­d and upcoming athletes in various categories of sports. Nevein Saad, Marketing Manager - Qualitynet said the QRun Kids Marathon brought in a lot of gratitude from the parents of the participat­ing children, who thanked the company for the idea of a Marathon for such young children. She also thanked the officers from the Ministry of Interior who came early morning and helped through the event, and the Management and staff from Pro-Vision Sports management, for a successful and flawless event.

Ahmed Majid, Executive Director - ProVision sports Management, said the event saw a great turnout for one that was a first time and also for such a young age group. “Registrati­ons were mostly via our online platform, which we closed 2 days before the event. We also had a few registrati­ons on spot before the event commenced, which started with the first category at 9:30am” said Ahmed. He concluded by expressing his pleasure in working with Qualitynet for an event with such a great cause behind it, and said he looks forward to working together on future projects that promote fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
