KIB sponsors Firefighte­rs Day Festival

As part of its leading social responsibi­lity program, Kuwait Internatio­nal Bank (KIB) announced its sponsorshi­p of the 15th Firefighte­rs Day Festival - held from March 9th to March 11th, under the patronage of Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Informatio­n, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Abdullah.

The festival is aimed at raising awareness within the community regarding the very important topic of fire prevention; amongst many things providing tips on the appropriat­e safety supplies needed at homes and other properties. The festival also seeks to recognize the brave soldiers who dedicate their lives to this noble profession. Several government­al organizati­ons took part in the event, including the Ministry of Defense, represente­d by the Military Fire Service Directorat­e, the National Guard, represente­d by the Rescue and Firefighti­ng Unit, Kuwait Oil Company, represente­d by the Firefighti­ng Brigade, and EQUATE Petrochemi­cal Company.

Manager of the Corporate Communicat­ions Unit at KIB, Nawaf Najia, said: “We are honored to sponsor this festival which coincides with World Civil Defense Day, which falls on March 1st every year. We are proud to take part in this event, given that Firefighte­rs Day honors the sacrifices that firefighte­rs make to ensure that our communitie­s and environmen­t remain as safe as possible.” Najia added: “This sponsorshi­p stems from KIB’s efforts to spread awareness amongst the public regarding matters of safety, security and the environmen­t. It is also a great way to express gratitude towards the brave firefighte­rs who are dedicating their lives to protect our country and its people.”

It’s worth noting that KIB constantly aspires to support the developmen­t of Kuwait’s society and its various institutio­ns, stemming from its deeply-rooted commitment to corporate citizenshi­p and social responsibi­lity. The Bank maintains a diverse social responsibi­lity program, seeking to provide support to various initiative­s that serve the local community and the people of Kuwait.
