-

AMMAN: Air Arabia Jordan, the Kingdom’s leading low-cost carrier (LCC), announced yesterday the launch of a new route to Tbilisi from Amman, becoming the first regular flight to directly link Jordan with Georgia.

Tbilisi caters to travellers who are eager to discover the crossroads between Europe and Asia. The launch of this service will amplify the number of tourists in Jordan, and contribute to strengthening the trade and bilateral relations between both nations. The biweekly flight is scheduled to start operation on April 6, 2017 every Monday and Thursday departing Amman International Airport at 3.35 am, and arriving at the Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport at 07:15 local time. The return flight will leave Tbilisi at 8.05 am reaching Amman at 10 pm local time.

“Tbilisi serves a wider, more culturally enthusiastic market in the Levant region. This service will introduce a new market to Jordan, and will support the Kingdom’s economic and tourism growth”, said Adel Al-Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia. “We are proud to announce this service for our Jordan-based passengers and confident that they will enjoy our value for money and award-winning service”.

Filled with rich history, architecture and culture, Georgia’s capital stretches in a narrow strip on both banks of the Kura. Through its cobblestoned pathways, old town Tbilisi hosts an array of ornate art in its original architecture and structures which reflect the city’s past influenced by both Persian and Russian rule. The modern city harmoniously combines antique and contemporary features among the vast nature with its winding streets that run around the mountain ridges.

Air Arabia Jordan started operations in 2015 and currently operates from Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport serving various destinations across the Middle East and North Africa.
