Burgan Bank sponsors ‘Greek Musical Night’

-

KUWAIT: Burgan Bank, the second largest conventional bank in terms of assets, in partnership with the Embassy of Greece in Kuwait and Dar Al Athar Al-Islamiyyah recently sponsored a Greek musical night event at the Yarmouk Cultural Center on 2 April 2017. The musical night, held under the patronage of the Greek Ambassador in the State of Kuwait, Andreas Papadakis, aimed to celebrate the rich Greek music and encourage the exchange of cultures.

The night hosted a group of famous Greek musicians as well as renowned “Zoe Tiganouria”, the Greek composer, accordion soloist and performer worked as a composer and accordionist with famous singers in the Greek discography, as well as with international artists (such as James Brown, Al Di-Meola, Omer Faruk Tekbilek, Goran Bregovic, Chico Freeman, Z¸ lf¸ Livaneli, and others). ‘Zoe’ entertained the audience through her Greek, Middle Eastern, Latin and international music performance.

Burgan Bank believes that sponsoring cultural events such as this, gives a chance to the public and younger generations to meet international artists and get introduced to different music genres from different cultures. As art continues to play a powerful role in bringing people of different cultures together and supporting progress and advancement in society, Burgan Bank is proud to support such an important musical event. This sponsorship falls under Burgan Bank’s full-fledged community program entitled ‘ENGAGE’ - Together to be the change. This program sheds light on important aspects affecting every segment of the society by promoting social welfare through educational, cultural, social and health initiatives. Burgan Bank’s approach to ‘ENGAGE’ begins with a vital principle that as a Kuwaiti financial institution, its conduct and policies should be aligned with the needs and interests of the Kuwaiti society.
