Box Office Top 20: 'The Boss Baby' squashes 'Smurfs 3' "T

he Boss Baby" continued to dominate the box office in its second weekend in theaters, adding $26.4 million to take the top spot. The animated flick featuring the voice of Alec Baldwin has earned $89.4 million from North American theaters to date. It effectivel­y took the family business away from new opener "Smurfs: The Lost Village," which debuted to a dismal $13.2 million in third place, behind Disney's juggernaut "Beauty and the Beast," which has now grossed $430.9 million domestical­ly. Not too far behind the third "Smurfs" movie was the Warner Bros. heist comedy "Going in Style" starring Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin. "Going in Style" earned $11.9 million in its first weekend in theaters.

Paramount's beleaguere­d "Ghost in the Shell" rounded out the top five with $7.3 million. The top 20 movies at US and Canadian theaters Friday through Sunday, followed by distributi­on studio, gross, number of theater locations, average receipts per location, total gross and number of weeks in release, as compiled Monday by comScore:
