Camels mirrors

- By Saad Al-Motesh

So many proverbs and sayings have been used by people without even knowing their meanings or why they were even said in the first place. I tried several times to ask some senior citizens about the meanings of some proverbs, but each of them gave me a different answer, including some logical ones and many others that were irrelevant.

One of those sayings says: “If only a camel could see its ears, it would wage war against its own time.” Some of you may even wonder about the significance of using such a saying as many believe it is only used for its rhyme of ears (Athan) and time (Zaman). Well, it is not like that.

The real reason of using this saying is for people to express amazement at the relatively small size of those ears compared to the camel’s size. I do wish some camel herder would place a large mirror in front of one of his camels to make it see its own ears. Maybe then we will know how the war between the camel and its time will be like.

If a camel is surprised by its small ears, please do not blame it because it does not know that we know it very well, just the same way we know about all those behind the threats to grill His Highness the Prime Minister. They are delusional if they do not realize that they are completely exposed to everyone. Everything is clear now and has been ever since a grilling motion was filed against former information minister Sheikh Salman Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, as the sports situation remain unchanged so far.

Therefore, I do advise whoever wishes to know the truth to use such mirrors to expose them. It was also said that ‘footprints mark the route;’ and it is up to you to figure this one out.
