Man wrongly arrested over cat litter

A man was arrested after police mistook his cat litter for illegal drugs. Ross Lebeau, 24, from Texas, was pulled over in his car by police who searched his vehicle and discovered the suspicious substance hidden in a sock, which they believed to be crystal methamphetamine. The officers arrested the driver on suspicion of possessing the forbidden substance and kept him in custody for three days before they discovered the alleged drug in the underwear garment was cat litter, which the driver used to prevent condensation forming in his vehicle. According to the Metro newspaper, police soon released Ross from his cell after realizing the mistake.
