Kuwait Corvette Club hold book signing ceremony, award winners

KUWAIT: The Kuwait Corvette Club (KCC) held the conclusion event of the season 2016/2017 during a gathering held on Wednesday at the Historical, Vintage and Classic Cars Museum in Shuwaikh. This event was sponsored by Yusuf A. Alghanim and Sons. During this event the new limited edition of Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport was unveiled. “Only 1,000 pieces of this vehicle were manufactur­ed, and in Kuwait there is just this one piece. It’s a C7 VO6 model with VO7 package. Powered by a 460 power horse LT1 engine. It is also equipped with carbon ceramic brakes,” Bader Al-Hbeil, Head of the Kuwait Corvette Club told Kuwait Times.

The event also included a book signing ceremony. “Mshari Al-Holi a member of KCC is also the author of the Corvette book that he signed during this event. His book was also sponsored by Yusuf A. Alghanim. Mshari was awarded for his great job with this book,” added Al-Hbeil. Furthermor­e the event also included awarding the winners of the ‘Most Beautiful Car’ contest. “During the season we held a competitio­n for the members of the club, for the most beautiful vehicle, and 60 vehicles out of the total 180 members participat­ed in this contest. The contest included 12 categories including stuck and modified vehicles and 39 winners in three positions from each category were awarded,” he further said.

The new season will start next October. “Due to the weather we will be gathering at the Cars Museum, and then we will be holding other outdoor activities. Besides Kuwait we will also hold activities in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia including racing and other activities,” concluded Al-Hbeil.
